I'm thinking about the Mizuno Rebula, the regular or the MIJ version. The best leather boots I've worn as of late were the blackout K-leather Puma evoPower 1.3 boots and it seems that the Mizuno Rebula would be the closest thing on the market to it. I just have to wait for some good deals because not only is the MIJ version too expensive for me, but so is the made in Indonesia one for me hahaha

Unisport, My favorite is the rebula because it is the most comfortable and snug and a buttery soft leather right out of the box. The foam skeleton follows the shape of your foot so well. Your foot is also so close to the ball and so personal. The most comfortable boot on the market.

I think the Nike Tiempo Legend 7 is the best out of the three and I'm used to wearing Tiempos so the Nike Tiempo Legend 7 is my boot.

I believe it is all VERY close to call for, but I have to go with the Nike Tiempo. Simply because of Nike's 2 year voucher. And since the boot is leather it won't last as long as synthetic or flyknit cleats!

Three very different leather football boots. Quality wise the MIJ Rebula trumps both boots you can't beat that K-Leather vamp. Was very disappointed by PUMA's One 17.1 silo, poor calf leather and cheap/stiff soleplate (seems like a scaled down evoTOUCH Pro). In saying that the more plush/thicker leather upper on the One will still be v comfortable. With the Tiempo Legend 7 again it is a quality boot, the lightest of the three but not the most comfortable. Seems like the Legend VII to me is a leather version of a speed boot now. Have preferred the more plush Legend IV, V & VI as they are more comfortable. But price tags kill off the MIJ Rebula, so it's between the Tiempo or Rebula V1. As you said the V1 could be the buy of the season, I'm going with that one. Tiempo is good but Flyknit/FlyWire and a dry, thinner K-Leather pushes me towards a more comfortable boot. The differences between the Legend VII and the Legacy aren't huge so maybe that one as well.

Yeah we agree Blake, Legacy III and Mizuno V1 are both some of the lesser known gems out there and you get ton of value for money in both. The PUMA ONE 17.1 is a weird one, because while it's surprisingly comfortable, it's just... too padded and plush for my taste, and that of lockdown kills it a bit for me. If I could get the Legend 7 studs on the Mizuno Rebula plate with the Rebula MIJ upper I'd be a happy camper. Such a quality boot - and it's a shame that the high price will put so many people off and rob them of the chance of trying the best of the best. /Jay

for the comfort i would go for Mizuno Rebula but since you'd say Modern Leather Boot i would go for Tiempo Legend 7 due to the grip around the foot, dominant touch of the ball and new soleplate configuration that offer stability plus traction but not to forget the Puma One that would be a good deal for an agile player. So each boot got their own class but for my modern leather boot it would be definitely Tiempo Legend 7 :)

Legend 7 for me. I like the shape of it better. And lets not forget the it is the ONLY one on the table with fitmesh. I think, long term, it will be the one that holds it shape better and resist overstretching. Also, has the best stud pattern and offered in multiple stud configurations.

+Klimonix all modern day football boots are too much money. The Adidas Copa Mundial is the best boot in my opinion. Reasonably priced, most comfortable, and great performance. Simply unbeatable I would love to try the Rebula MIJ though

I believe that the Legend 7 is the best out of the three. It has a very, how can I state it simply?... DOWN TO EARTH 🌏 price, and you get a really good value for money. As far as the mizuno is concerned, it looks very good, and the Japanese put a lot of research into it, but I don't think people are going to give 320€ without the shipping to buy a boot. The PumaOne though I think is a test for Puma to see how the buyers respond to it. This year is good, but nod good enough to please the buyers. Next year I think they will surprise each and every one of us 😜

I use the Rakuten Global site. It's like Amazon but for Japanese products. You have to set your country as Japan and you must have a Japanese mailing address to use the services (or just use Tenso). An authentic Mizuno Morelia II MIJ ($ 280 in the US) costs about $ 155 from that site. Pay around $ 23 for the fastest shipping and it'll arrive at your doorstep in 3 days.

I respectfully disagree with the term "inferior leather" for calf. Calf leather is quality, unfortunately most manufacturers don't use quality grade. Joma and Pantafola are two manufacturers that use quality calf leather. I enjoyed the video though. Keep them coming.

I would most likely go with the Tiempo Legend 7 due to the sole plate and overall lock down. The Rebula MIJ looks great but the last and overall shape remind me of the last 11pro which I owned. While the comfort was great in that boot I never felt really locked into the shoe. The PUMA One does interest me as I really do like that padded "squishy" touch you can get with leather. The squishiest I've tried being the Gloro 16.1 (insert Luca drooling noise here). If I could get that touch in the Legend 7 I would be over the moon.

I think that Nike and Puma can do a better job because in my opinion both of the boots look weird. I would without a doubt take the Mizuno Rebula's, but when football pitches are like this (grass burnt, ground hard AF (atleast where I live..)) I'd take the Puma's just because they have shorter studs so there is a lot less pain. But still, Mizuno Rebula.

I am actually on the market right now for a leather boot and this video helps a lot acutally. Just one suggestion, now that Puma released the Puma one Lux with Kangaroo leather with a different sole plate I would imagine it can actually compete with the other 2. Can you comment on this or possible do a remake of the video with the new Puma One Lux instead?? Also good to mention that they are on sale at the moment. Hey guys, because I'm a big fan of leather football boots, i want to share my experiences with you! :-) First of all i have to say that i prefer leather boots because most of them feel very comfortable und you have a good feeling in them. When i was a teenager i always play in adidas predator. The best thing in these boots was shooting with them - very strong / precise shoots. Then i changed to copa mundial a few years because they are the most comfortable shoes i know. but after 2 years i got problems with shooting. I think this was because the copa are wide shoes and even get wider over the time. After this i bought the Adidas Adizero F50 Leather - the best shoes i ever had.. Comfortable, light weight, perfect shoot, good feeling and nice optic (completely white). Unfortunately they are no longer produced by adidas and not available on Ebay in my Size (EU 48). So i had to look for a new leather boot. A few weeks ago i bought the Umbro Medusae Pro HG (black) at unisportstore. I love the optic of the shoes. And i have to say that the shoes are very good, too. Nice Touch and Shoot. But i think the adidas adizero leather had been a little bit more comfortable. I heard that the Nike Tiempo are also nice leather boots but the biggest size is little too small for my feet. A nice alternative to the Umbro Medusae would be the PUMA ONE (to see in the video) or the ACE 17.1 Leather. I read lots of good things about these boots, but unfortunately since now i didn't have the chance to wear them. Well, perhaps my experiences on leather shoes help some of you guys, who are not sure, which leather boot they should buy. :-) Greetings, Chris

Good stuff Chris, thanks for sharing! I'd probably take the ACE17.1 over the PUMA ONE 17.1 to be honest - I like the fit a lot more in the ACE. I think what'll get you closest to the feel of the adizero though is is the X17.1 in leather as the shape and thickness of the leather is relatively close. It's not as thin or as light as the F50, but it's probably the closest thing at the moment. /Jay

I think the Mizuno Rebula is not Ok for this comparison. The Mizuno Morelia Neo fit a lot more between the Tiempo and the One.

I’ve been wearing Nike Tiempo for many years and even my shoe size is 9.5US, I wear size 10 because I dislike too much of snug feeling on my toe. I’ve ordered a Mizuno Rebula 2 V1 for the first time and was debating wether to go with 9.5 or 10. Some review said it’s true to size but give you narrower and snug feeling on the toe. What was your impression when you wore it and compared with the Tiempo. Was is about the same snug feeling? Thanks. Atsuki

That's VERY difficult to say :D I'd say that the Vigor 1 is arguably a tad bit more pliable, but the leather on the Rebula is definitely more buttery soft in that plush leather-like way. Different feelings but both are next level. /Jay

I’ve been interested in the Puma one 1 but I don’t quite like the fact of it being just a leather upper. I like the whole boot to mold to my feet. So should I go for the Nike Tiempo 7’s?
