I really don't see how Twilight has been as popular as it has been. It has the Greninja but I just don't see that card as a top chase card for me personally. Great vid as always btw 👍

I think Paldea Evolved and Temporal Forces is longterm much better as Twilight Masquerade. Only the Greninja and Evee cant hold this set. We will see in few weeks when Stellar Crown release with the new rainbow arts.

Comparing With the current set out now think paldea evolved will eclipse every main s&s and S&v set besides evolving skies. The set does not cater to the commenters here. They cater to the the 10 year olds of today. Much like base set did for the 10year olds back in the late 90s. There is no more Ash and his gang. The anime series has a brand new cast of characters that focus on the paldea region. I wouldn't sleep on temporal forces or paradox rift either. Introducing new pokemon types that kids today are growing up with. Sure there will be the nostalgia of Ash generation always but don't count out something just because it's new. This list may be valid for the "olds" (myself included) now but if we bring this list up 5-10 years from now I predict paldea, temp forces, paradox rift will be higher For the record I own none of these sets sadly. I'm just observing what my kids and their friends watch

I’m collecting Paldaea Evolved as my main set. EB games had packs going for $5 each so I cleaned out the 2 that were close by lol. Crown Zenith is also a nice set but I’ll concentrate on Paldaea for now

just got an nice deal on 5 paldea evolved booster boxes. here in Sweden you can count on them to cost around 150-160 USD each ,but got it for 130 USD by purchasing it from another country nearby, including customs duty. Maybe that would be a video idea, to buy from other countries if possible, to get better deals and so on :) Great video btw!

I think Rebel Clash is sneaky underrated. It doesn't have a stand out banger card, but the vast majority of the chase cards have decent value/worth. The pull rates are the best of early era SWSH too.

Hey pokeoz I finally caved and bought the evolving skies booster box 😂 one popped up, price was really decent and i just really had that desire to add to the sealed collection. After nearly 12 months of hesitation i pulled the trigger and it can sit pretty there among the 80-odd other boxes

I've wanted it for a while but put the money into astral, chilling reign, fusion strike etc but the sw/sh collection needed that centerpiece. Agree, in 5 years I'll give myself a pat on the back. Monkey is finally off the back 😂

I have a question which, maybe because I have only been in the hobby since Jan 2023, shows my ignorance. Evolving Skies has a lot of very good cards, but why are the big chase cards Duraladon, Raquazas and Eevees bundled in one set? Trying to figure out the correlation. It was 3 Japanese sets Eevee Heroes, Blue Sky Stream and Skyscraping Perfection bundled together. Just never understood why other than Pokemon wanting to diversify the set. Love the arts though.

Great video! I need to check out temporal. I've been sleeping on it thinking twilight masquerade and paldea are better. Also Do you ever consider the key art on the booster box itself? I really do think that plays a big part in perception, at least for me. Chilling reign and evolving skies are both amazing looking boxes on their own and in my opinion twilight masquerade is the best looking SV booster box.

I think if Magikarp was textured it would be THE top SIR card in S&V. Clearly people like this artist's work with the giratina. Texturing that card and the scene/story it tells would make it a great card even better

I don't think Obsidian Flames sucks in the way Darkness Ablaze sucks, it just wasn't particularly well put together in terms of the 'chase' card structure. For example, if you're going to put a holo card in every pack, you need more than a dozen of them.

Good to see Fusion in 2nd place! I can’t stop buying whilst the Pokémon centre UK still has stock somehow! 159 boxes now along with a bunch of Espeon triple blisters I got for retail more or less. Boxes are a no brainier especially when they’re already selling for above retail in the UK on the secondary market. Only frustrating thing is I’d love to put a bit of money in other sword and shield sets that I don’t own much of, a bit of silver tempest, astral, CR but from an investment POV I’ve just gotta keep picking up FS while I can at retail. One of the best sets from the best modern era of Pokémon. If anyone was in the UK and considering grabbing some boxes I’d just buy as many FS as you can. payday for most people tomorrow so might be the last opportunity. I don’t see the point in putting money in buying one of the latest sets when they are going to be available for the next 18 months. Just dead money. By then FS would’ve gone up a fair amount and the Scarlet boxes of x set will just be in the drying up stage. Swsh is an incredible era which will do much better long term then Scarlet. 20 years down the line people are going to remember swsh way more, being the era people got (back) into Pokémon with the old covid and Logan Paul. They’re gonna want to open sets that hold the most nostalgia to them at the time and so many people got into Pokémon during that era. Don’t get me wrong Scarlet will do alright but long term I think Sword n shield will preform slightly better hence not really owning any Scarlet yet. I’ll grab a case of Twilight in a years time and a bunch of 151 in Decembers UK reprint. Still feel there’s a decent chance of another reprint given how new it still is and popular though.

I really hate how people do their rankings on "sets". They are either completely biased, or they rank "sets" based on ONLY the top chase cards. You guys know that a "set" consists of not only a few cards, but ALL cards right? If you look up the definition on a "set", you'll read that it mentions a collection, or series, or group or things that makes up something. And if you're going to evaluate a set, you guys know what that means right? It means that you need to consider ALL parts of it. So here you mention a set, but then proceed to only talk about the chase cards and make literally almost no other comparisons/arguments about other cards from it. This is why I can't take a lot of people's opinions on rankings seriously. It's NOT a fair evaluation/comparison at all. Instead, people need to say "sets that have the best chase cards". THEN their rankings will be more valid. Because really? FS, LO, BS better than every single SV set ever? Not even close.
