Okay you guys have missed the hints for so long that i just have to come out and say it spoilers: The demi human supremacist nation Siltvelt which worships the shield hero and the human supremacist nation of Melromark which worships the other three heroes have been at war on and off for hundreds of years. The king married into royalty as a result of his achievements in ones of those wars, a war he joined because demi human supremacists killed his parents and sold his blind younger sister into sex slavery. Add that trauma to being raised in a religion that preaches that demi humans are innately evil and the the shield hero they worship is a demon and it's not hard to see why he ended up this way. The queens goal in the international conference was to gain the rights to summon the shield hero, have him marry into the royal family and make a lasting peace between Siltvelt and Melromark. This was something the church of three heroes and the king could not accept as they believed that the shield hero and demi humans are evil and that it would undermine their political power. Thus the king and the church conspired to summon all four heroes and manipulate the sword, bow and spear into killing the shield. Malty played along hoping to use the church to kill her mother and sister to claim the throne for herself. You saw how that played out.

The Family that the King talks about might not be his wife and children. It could also be like his own father mother grandparents and siblings. Why because his children are still young and it doesn't make sense if the previous hero is only days before new ones were summoned. remember fitoria forgets because its been a long time. Also, they dealt the first wave with only knights and common people before they decided to summon the legendary heroes. Not Summoning right away means the waves of the past have been long gone and heroes are no longer needed until the new first wave hit.

Some details that you might have missed: *The Lord of Seyaette was the lord of the land where Raphtalia's village was. He died in the wave which is why Raphtalia's village was pillaged by rogue soldiers. If you are wondering why would a human supremacist nation had a village of demi humans, it was to built diplomatic relations with Siltwelt (a Demi human supremacist country which has humans as slaves). Siltwelt also built a human village so that better relations could be established after their decades of war. The destruction of the Demi human village pissed off SIltwelt, in addition to Naofumi's mistreatment. *The anime didn't exactly convey that the Shield Hero is treated as a God/Saint in Siltwelt, comparable to how the 3 Heroes are treated in Melromarc. The reason why the border was closed was to prevent Naofumi from going into Siltwelt. It is also why the Queen's Shadow told Naofumi not to go to Siltwelt (since Siltwelt was pissed that Naofumi's mistreatment but the Queen lied and said that Naofumi was uncovering corruption in her country. If he had reached Siltwelt and told them the truth, it would cause a war). *In the LN it was the Queen who convinced Naofumi to spare Trash & Bitch, by offering him the ability to do anything to them aside from executing them. The pretext is that executing her family members would be a bad look but the truth is she wanted Naofumi to spare their lives. She then offered her own life if it would sate his anger, which he rejected as he harbored no malice against her. *The Queen wants Naofumi to marry Melty. The reason for that is that if Melty becomes pregnant with the child of the Shield Hero, the demi human countries would think better of them & they could end the wars between them.

@@gil828 Basically The human supremacist nation of Melromark which worshiped the three heroes and the demi-human supremacist nation of Siltvelt which worshiped the shield hero have been at war on and off for as long as recorded history. The kings parents died and his blind younger sister went missing during one of those wars. Which lead to him becoming a famous general in the conflict and personally killing the reigning king of Siltvelt which is how he managed to marry into the royal family. The queen wants to make a lasting peace between the two nations part of this was restricting (she can't outright ban it because that would suddenly crash a sector of the economy and cause nobles and the church to revolt) the demihuman slave trade to build good will and having nobles she trusted near the border with silitvelt create domains where demihumans have citizens rights. When it came time for the heroes to be summoned she negotiated to try and get the rights to summon the shield hero planning to have Melty seduce him and produce offspring the idea was that being protected by the shield hero would undermine the peoples faith in the church of three heroes, which would in turn make it easier for her to reduce their political power and further restrict slavery. And since Siltvelt worships Shield heroes as mortal reincarnations of their god if a shield hero were to marry into Melromarks royal family their bloodline would then become scared in the eyes of Siltvelt giving them a reason to change their demihuman supremist policies. However the king believed that demihumans and by extension the shield hero they worshiped were innately evil and Malty (Myne) wanted an excuse to remove her mother and sister from power. So before the queen could return the church came to them with a plan to summon all four heroes and sabotage the shield hero so he would die in the first wave he fought in. They also began destroying the domains where demihumans have citizens rights. You have seen what happened from there.

Nasty was right with the other 3 Heroes visiting other countries outside of Melromarc. They visited adventurer guilds to get quests/rewards. Naofumi was not allowed to leave Melromarc, and this episode clear away the why.

As satisfying as this is, I think this was handled better in the manga. In that, Naofumi demands the death penalty for Bitch and Trash, but the Queen says that’s too good for them, too quick a release when he could torment them further. Plus the king was a great adventurer back in the day and has allies in other countries who’d take up arms if he died. As such, he went with the changing of their names. Also, the queen forced the two to publicly bow before Naofumi and beg him to save the kingdom.

So while you are absolutely correct with the info given about why the other countries are mad, since Melomarc summoned all four heroes. It is also explained in the source that there is a draft pick order for summoning the heroes and Melomarc wasn't even in line to summon any of the heroes. So in essence, they pissed off at least 4 more powerful nations by basically cutting in line and buying out the product on Black Friday sales.

I don't know the answer myself but there are a few ways I could see your question being answered. 1. We already know that heroes can be repeatedly summoned to this world, as long of the rest of the set is dead. So Fitora's hero could have been summoned, then died along with the other heroes of his set at a later point, and then a new hero showed up that caused the rift between siltvelt and melomarc. 2. While it is presumed that is has been a long time since Fitora's hero eventually left her, we don't actually know that for a fact. Neither her nor Filo are human beings in the sense that we understand it (how long do they live, what is their natural life span, how long until they suffer the mental effects of aging, etc) So for all we know she could be running on a dog years time line where for her it feels like an age, but for normal humans maybe it's been 20 years. 3. We don't know how regularly the sets of waves occur, they could be a once in a thousand years sorta thing, or as often as once every decade or once a human generation. If the latter is the case there is plenty of room for more shield heros who weren't Fitora's shield to show up and stir up the local diplomatic pot.

The fact she didn't very much implies that the man that raised her was the latest one. She clearly doesn't have bad memory, so I can only surmise from that, that quite a large number of years have passed. Also, when they first meet her, Melty herself said a long time ago (the subtitles say centuries, but I'm pretty sure she says 'a long time ago'). Go back and look, she even says that Fitoria was raised "by a hero of the time". So it has indeed been a long ass time. EDIT: This is on episode 16.

This episode is the worst of the series. It depicts the utter injustice that is served up to the viewer as justice. For what the royal family of Naofumi has done. Proving his innocence in front of everyone is enough. But for the benefits the Royal Family enjoys, they are responsible. Also, the King and Princess of Malta S. (Myne) are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people by their actions and their only punishment is renaming.

Y'all do know that you can only summon before hero like every 100 years or something right? They can't do it all of the time. When the Waves are coming, like when the Dragon Hourglasses, start ticking down a clock, that's when they have a minute to summon the 4 Holy Weapon Heroes. So the Queen couldn't have had sex or an affair before she got married to Aultcray the King of Melromarc. And when he said that he was trying to protect his family from the Shield Hero, his temporary slave crest didn't activate and the Queen almost caught feelings because of how her husband felt was genuine. But she was already resolved to execute him and Malty for the stuff that they did, contributing to the downfall of their country. And she was kind of in self-imposed exile, working on diplomacy. Her job was to try to convince the other countries to not go to war with Melromarc because her country snatched up all four Heroes behind her back. And all the Lords that were supposed to work for the queen like the Lord of Raptalia's village, were executed or assassinated or banished. Her village of Demi-human's Lord was like the one from Reichnott's village, a human who was sympathetic to demi-humans and treated them fairly. But after he was gone, human soldiers from the kingdom after the 1st Wave hit, tore the village down, slaughtered some folks and sold most of the children and young people into slavery. That's how Raphtalia, her best friend and that one boi her other other friend ended up at that one guy's mansion where he tortured them everyday, largely because of the war that Melromarc fought against the countries of likely Shieldfreeden and Shiltvelt which are mostly Demi-human ruled (Shiltvelt actually has human slavery).

The king is not talking about the shield hero broken is current family because you can still see that they are a family. 2nd. the King is not the kind of guy that would take care Melty knowing that she is the daughter or have a possible chance of being the kid of the guy he hit the most. Naofumi have nothing to do with him and he still hate him that much. 3rd. The Queen made it clear that was out on an International Forum for the next wave which mean she wasn't lock up in any sort that will also explain why guard was around her and she couldn't just leave. 4th. If she really go and ***** with shield hero while married and as a leader of the country that would be a bad example for Melty as we all can see they trying to make Melty take after her. 5th. If one of them weren't the daughter of both the king and the queen you guys would notice by how they look at them. the treatment wouldn't be like that for both. those are some point from the anime there are some more info but that might be able to get on later episode

I read LN and I know - it was the Queen who asked Shield save Myne and King's life, it was the Queen. Shield - is not good guy. He is not 'spiderman doesn't kill people'. He didn't stop Raphtalia, when she fought guy with whip. And he didn't be mercyful with Myne and King by his own will - it was the queen who asked him for this. Animation crew literally destroyed main character.
