1:27 DOMI BURST! For those who don't know, Domi Burst is simply a really bad burst attempt, such as immediately bursting the moment you get hit and doing so when you are high above the ground, which often results in a free reset from opponent. This is named after the famous Japanese Anji player Domi, who is notorious for Domi Burst. You will find Japanese commenting "ii hanabi", meaning "nice fireworks" when a Domi Burst is spotted in match videos.

In GG1, you can actually recover from most of those combos but it was a very undocumented thing and everybody assumed that those combos were inescapable. Now you know!

***** Up + Any attack button. Onscreen it will say "AVOID". Its similar to SF Zero 3's recovery and actually not far off from modern GGX and other modern GG games.

Nice, got any other info up your sleeve? I never found much about the game online and had to find out through trial and error. Like Testament's counter hit kill-mode gimmick.

***** Been decades since I last played it so I don't have much. Not sure what you mean about Testament, but Dead Angles or clashes can lead to instant kill activations and the first to enter QCF anything will perform IK. This is mostly why the original game got so broken. It wasn't the seemingly unlimited combos because you can actually recovery off them, but because at any instant any move can become a 50/50 multi-round win.

Testament's counter hit moves initiated the IK mode as well, that's what I meant.

It was the 2004 Tougeki grand finals for GGXX Reload. I'd know that finals stage anywhere. Wikipedia says team ofc played Faust, Dizzy and Robo-Ky and placed 4th.

@ChromeHomura In GG1, at less than 50% health, you can do overdrives for no meter. The DIs stack, so his last VV (which does a shitload of damage even in regular DI) ends up doing well over 100%.

I got a question about those GG1 combos...I've posted similar videos on KZbin, but nobody believes they are legit. Can someone maybe show proof of why those insane combos work and explain why they work? Maybe even give some tips on how to play that game? Cuz I sure wish I could play like that Ky (even if the game is outdated, those combos were epic).

This is a late comment I guess, but still... In AC when Venom uses forcebreak Stinger aim (or Carcass Raid) the ball it launches will stop moving upon contact with any other ball Venom has already summoned onscreen. The momentum is then transferred to the other ball, while the FB Stinger/Carcass will remain active (despite being stationary) even if Venom gets hit. Thus, planting a fully charged one right in front of them makes for a particularly scary corner pressure scenario... The technique was named after HEVEN (The Venom player in the clips, red palette) as he was the first to demonstrate it's potential at a tournament and earned himself a noteworthy reputation for using it as well.
