I’m older (47) but trying to get into mountain biking. I’m less likely to do many jumps but love your enthusiasm and reviews. I’m aiming more for some good off-road and flowing trails. Looking forward to more!

I am 56 and started riding when I was about 43. I also prefer fast and flowing to jumps (although a little air now and then is fun). I enjoy Sherman Branch for a solid cardio workout that is fun but not too crazy. Purser also has a nice and varied trail system that is separate from the jump area. If you are up for a drive Uwharrie (other side of Albemarle) is an excellent workout and not to crazy (but a fair amount of climbing compared to most of the CLT area trails). Stick with it. It beats the heck out of a treadmill.

great video, i live in close to charlotte (gastonia) and plan on getting a mtb soon, this was super informative. I have 2 questions, where would u rank george poston park if youve been there? Flowy trails look like a lot of fun but i wasnt sure if they had them. Also I plan on going to airline and rocky branch park because they are the closest to me and seem to be the most fun, would you recommend either a 27.5 or 29er? im gonna get a hard tail due to the cheaper prices but wasnt sure about the wheel size. im 5'10 if that matters. thanks again for the video.

Thanks so much dude. In my opinion George Poston park is not very good for beginners and also I would recommend you start at rocky and airline both of those places have beginner friendly trails. I would also recommend a 29er if you are just starting out because it is much easier to get over stuff and it also rolls faster. I am 5'8 and 29ers feel good on my bike. Thanks again.

@@MacNSteez2602 We have two; Big Leaf and Signal Hill. Both cross country oriented, but we have a pump track/jump line along with a couple good sections for jumps. Signal Hill was the builder's of Cedar Valley earlier work. If you make it up this way, would love some input on what you think about it.
