The Bangkok National Museum (Thai: พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติ พระนคร, RTGS: Phiphitthaphanthasathan Haeng Chat Phra Nakhon) is the main branch museum of the National Museums in Thailand and also one of the largest museums in Southeast Asia. It features exhibits of Thai art and history. It occupies the former palace of the vice king (or Front Palace), set between Thammasat University and the National Theater, facing Sanam Luang.
The museum was established and opened in 1874 by King Chulalongkorn to exhibit the royal collections of his father King Mongkut. Today the galleries contain exhibits covering Thai History back to Neolithic times. The collection includes King Ram Khamhaeng's Inscription, which was inscribed on UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme registered in 2003 in recognition of its significance.
Besides preserving and displaying Thai artifacts dating from the Dvaravati, Srivijaya, to Sukhothai and Ayutthaya periods, the museum also displays extensive collections of regional Asian Buddhist Arts such as Indian Gandhara, Chinese Tang, Vietnamese Cham, Indonesian Java, and Cambodian Khmer arts.
*The museum is open Wednesday - Sunday 9:00am to 4:00pm
*Entrance fee is 200THB for foreigners, 30THB for Thai citizens. Free admission for children below 12 years of age.

Many thanks for this video show!!! I'm a Chinese tourist who has arrived in Thailand twice and am interested in and respectful of Thai culture. On my earlier visits, I just joined sea activities or other commercial activities. This time, I want to learn Thai culture deeply. So, I have a question, do the national museum provide any interpretation services such as “Chinese interpreter” for visitors?

Hi. As far as I know, there are private tour agencies in Bangkok with Thai guides who can speak fluent Chinese. Also, in some museums and cultural sites, you can hire a tour guide as well. Here's a link to the Tourism Aurhority of Thailand with a list of accredited tour agencies. www.tourismthailand.org/Search-result/tour_agent?sort_by=datetime_updated_desc&page=1&perpage=15&menu=tour_agent

@@UrbanExplorerBKK Great thanks for your reply and the provided guides. I still couldn't find an interpreter in the museum, but when I bought a ticket, the ticket seller gave me a guidebook that included some useful information about each hall. I was really impressed after finishing my visit today, especially with the art of carving, the Buddha exhibition, and the various masks used in royal ceremony. The only disappointing thing was that I didn't have prepare enough time to learn more.

Came here from one of your comment saying that you are using DJI Pocket 2.. just checked some of your videos. The video quality is super good.. i would love to buy this smll beast for my channel. Would you recommend this camera for youtube vlog? And what about the battery life per time charge?
@UrbanExplorerBKK
@UrbanExplorerBKK Жыл бұрын
Hi! I would recommend this camera but the downside is the short battery life. I keep mine connected to a powerbank when I shoot my videos, which usually takes 2 hours long raw. Without the power bank and shooting in 4k, you could shoot approx 40-45min before the battery dies out. Check the DJI Action 3, and its battery pack options..It might suit you if you're into outdoor shooting. Good luck and best regards!
