Man, I donated a lot of games to this best-of collection. Still, I was hoping for Gyruss on NES and the "celestial ba-donk-a-donk" to make an appearance.

​@VEGANVANIA on that hardware? Sure, in terms of software content. NES would be more reliable than the disk though. However, as much as I love Nintendo Gyruss, I probably still prefer the arcade and more accurate conversions.

@VEGANVANIA you know, I own the disk, but it's been a long time since I've owned a FDS. I couldn't recall if there were changes in bullets and enemies, but the releases for the JP disk and US cart were very close, and I would be surprised if they had that much time to make improvements. I just know they had to make a handful cuts to have the code fit on a smaller 64K cart. The tiny bit of parallax in the planets screen, the names of the planets once you reach them, the score countdown on bonus stages, the ending sequence, and the differing titles and story screens are the things I remember being cut for the US cart.

Captain Skyhawk was awesome! I remember getting it at Walmart as a kid and having no idea what it was, but it was plane making things go boom and I was sold

A curiosity about Pin-Bot, which is an awesome and underrated NES game: along with High Speed (another Williams' pinball NES recreation by Rare), they won't work on NES clone consoles due to the sampler integrated into the cartridges. That special chip causes the NES clones to crash after the cartridge's boot, so they work well only on original NES consoles (and emulators, of course).
