Since I saw them both get offered as options, Online Shopaholic + Wholesaler kinda breaks the game - because the items don't count as being owned until after you pick them up mid-wave, *that combination allows you to stack uniques because it'll let you wholesale them.* And some of them even do actually have their effects stack as a result. And presumably it works for going over the cap on other normally-capped items, too.

A really cool aspect of this character is that you lose your levels when buying a new character, but you don't lose your stats. That means, on top of the new characters' abilities, you get to power through the low levels again, getting all the easy, early-game hp and stat bonuses.

I feel like mutant would still be worth it even if the item price does apply to the XP levels required. Cutting the cost of all levels to 1/3 in exchange for needing 50% more sounds good on paper, even if the increasing requirements for levels as they get higher wouldn't actually work out to be that crystal clear of an advantage, and it would allow you to get value out of the additional level-up perks earlier

If you used gmo to start with recruiter and wholesaler, and waited until level 12 to buy your first character, could you buy 12 copies of the same character for 1 level each? There’s probably something put in place for this but it would be crazy strong if you could

Whole sale + lich give you -100% damage gain.

If the mutant item price applied to the characters it would still be good, after all you buy the characters with xp. If you look at his effect you would gain 3x more xp and the characters would cost 1.5x more so even if the characters cost more the exp gain more than covers for it.

Not really, because the amount of XP per level grows exponentially. So even though it's 50% more levels it's far more than that in xp
