I have owned a 23zero for 2 years now, and I cannot begin to state how happy we are with it. The quality is just amazing, I keep it on 365 days a year in the brutal Arizona sun as well as traveling to the San Diego beach, Telluride cold/wet/snow, and bumpy off road and this thing has held up incredible to all conditions. I honestly sleep better in this that my 3K matt at home. When I replace this , it will be another 23zero for sure.

Something that makes me a little worried…23Zero uses 280gsm material for their tents. iKamper uses 300gsm and the new Roofnests are 320gsm. 15% thinner material than the competition makes me wonder about 23Zero’s durability in comparison.
@AdventureBuilt Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if the thickness in cover material is a major concern for durability. My cover sees the most stress from the trail abuse and UV rays. The hardware and structure of the base sees the abuse of being bounced around for days at a time. I have my Yakima RTT and the only thing on the thing that was still nearly perfect after 3 years of abuse was the material. Just my opinion and I’m sure people have different experiences and concerns! 😂

Great review. I was impressed by the new 23Zzero tent. Now, I have a question regarding all RTT: What happen to your tent after a solid rainy night and you have to leave early at the morning? I mean, can you fold back down the wet tent without beeing worry about the humidity or mold?
@rikmathias94152 жыл бұрын
I have never gotten any mold from folding a tent or closing one wet. "IF" you fold it all up and leave it packed that way for weeks there is where you start science experiments. Seems obvious, doesn't it? In my opinion you can fold up your wet tent with relative safety, only once your back at home, or at the next location with hopefully a passed storm and it is sunny . . . open up and dry out. I wished there were more tents in the review, even if you had to show some older models. 14 minutes on 23Zero . . . I was hoping to see other models than just clamshell. Very nice review but wanted more choices. Drat! (I blame that on the show, not you, LOL) Thanks for your post

I'm currently in the process of building an Overland Trailer, I want to bring my toys and such. This will be for hunting also (take my ATV, E-bike, hunt stands, etc). Have a fabricator assisting me to put my idea to reality. 5x10 utility trailer, fabricated rack system w/Smittybilt Gen 2 XL on top. Whole rack system with swivel/fold down to allow storage in my garage (80" clearance) while ATV is on the trailer. ATV requires 49" clearance from deck to bottom of RTT while folded down. Nothin like this out there, had to build my own. Friend tells me (seeing design) "you're on to something here". We'll see. I have a 19ft Toy Hauler RV, my Jeep Cherokee can't tow that. This is a "Jr" system for off road camping/hunting adventures.
@AdventureBuilt2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. To answer your question I just go for it. If I’m on a multi day trip I just hope that the tent isn’t so wet that it soaks the mattress. I always full out all the bedding to keep that dry. If it’s soaked it will usually dry the next night. If it rains for days on end, it just stays wet. When I get home I set it up until it’s bone dry. That’s my advice and hope it helps.
@steven66922 жыл бұрын
Most of these new designers just don't get it...the main reason why the ikamper has sold as many units as they have is bc the HOT COLOR COMBINATION... I've seen this over and over on the internet...once a buyer likes the color combos there's no way anyone can talk him into changing their minds... keep bringing those green's and beige colors and watch your sales compared to the ikamper...learn!

I still don't get the allure to RTT. So expensive for a tent that maybe can sleep two people...really comfy for one adult. But, to each their own and being a capitalist...if people want it, go for it. A Springbar tent beats any RTT every time.

With an RTT I just need a level truck not level ground. Setup and takedown is really quick, skipping the need for stakes and cots. But I agree that $4k is expensive and the cost is actually running since it impacts mpg.

There is good and bad with that. Value is relative. I have a cheap tent and I’m not impressed. Would you pay 2k for a tent you won’t like and will more than likely replace in a couple years. Or pay 3k for a tent you will love and keep for 10 years. I’m a fan of the second.
@gwot2 жыл бұрын
@@AdventureBuilt relative and subjective, sure. My definition of value is inexpensive AND it lasts, if it doesn't have both, it's not value to me. Paying more for it to last isn't value to me, it's more like... "worth it". Paying less but doesn't last long is just "you get what you paid for". A Civic is value (inexpensive and lasts), Elantra you get what you paid for (inexpensive and doesn't last) , Lexus is worth it (Expensive, comfort, and lasts) So I want a value tent, inexpensive that lasts and I like.
