I stopped at "600w of solar input." That's pathetic. Even the AC300 has 2400 watts solar input, which is still low in my opinion, unless you live in Arizona or something and have constant sun. It's like having a Ferrari with a 1 gallon sized gas tank.

@@ScalzoPhoto No, that actually doesn't make any sense. Never heard of PV input on an inverter increasing the more batteries you add behind it, only the capacity. The max is controlled via the fixed hardware capability in the inverters charge controller.

Got an AC200Max + 2 x B230 expansion batteries (so about 6144Wh of storage) and about 2.2KW of solar myself. I think it would be nice if a lot of these vendors allowed for the solar input to be significantly higher than the output wattage. (e.g. If you're offering a 4KW output, the solar input should be double that) Based on the premise of having 8-10 hours of sunlight but a 4000w output (in this case), so with this unit you'd never be able to even keep up with the AC output and charge the unit. (not even considering efficiency losses in the inverter) Not picking on this brand, just an observation of most power stations out there at the moment and something I'd like to see.

I agree Liam, I wish companies would ask more of us content creators or people who specialize in this stuff, about getting our input. Now not everyone will need crazy solar input because 2000 watts is a lot for the average person. Most use DIY people if we had space would go as high as we could….WHERE IS MY MEGA WATT??? !!! 😂 But yes higher input voltage and for a higher solar charge rate would be great 😀👍🏼

I bought the Max with a view to expanding it when the battery price went down. Unfortunately Bluetti have kept the price of the expansion batteries very high. Ludicrously high... you can currently get an AC200p for £100 less than an expansion battery with the same storage and the redundancy of having all the duplicated electronics. From a marketting point of view it's braindead.

Lithium Ion is more energy dense especially when solid state. And they are the safest of lithium batteries even more so of LiFePho4. Solid state doesn’t have a liquid electrolyte so even if punctured they dont burn up unlike lithium iron will.

Enjoyed the video Johnny. Not sold on the Yoshino. It does me no good that it has 4000W of output and yet with the measly input from solar charging the unit is very limiting , to where depending on the time of year, your solar peak hours may average 4 to 6 hours of charging . It would be nice if it had at least 2 dual solar charging ports. I know the discharge test was above average, but I was not impressed with the efficiency it had when connected to your refrigerator. At that point the efficiency was 71%. I have the first generation Delta Max 2000 that provides better efficiency when running my 26cuft fridge that is very old.

Unfortunately the killer of this unit is the solar input for sure. It does perform well though. The new expandable battery that I thought would be out already doubles solar input. So that does help. A friend of mine bought the AC200p which is the same in many respects including the size of the battery when it was on "sale" earlier this year (Bluetti always has a "sale" on... if there wasn't a public holiday they'd do a sale because of the phase of the moon or because an employee had a birthday...). Interestingly the AC200p is currently HEAVILY discounted... I think they may be discontinuing the model and are therefore getting rid of the stock. Yea the unit has some potential for sure . More solar input definitely needed. And yea the DP is a unique unit for sure. As for charging the sweet spot would be to set charge and discharge limits to 20%-80%. Kinda like the Chevy volt and more they run the batteries in the middle to make them last.Z but very two or 3 months do two, complete charge and discharge cycles to recalibrate the bms. Now you could do 100% to 0 if you wanted but you’ll hit that 80% soc rate a little sooner. But still if they truly last 10 years till there, use them up. Don’t let them sit. That’s waisting money

I'm not sure if it's worth buying the Yoshino. The Yoshino will power the same devices that a Delta Pro will for roughly the same amount of time (I don't think that 2-3 hours more is worth the price difference). The delta pro is cheeper and will get the job done. This technology is recently coming out and will be very expensive at first but as competition grows the price will drop bit it will take a while. I think the only reason I would buy the Yoshino is because of the weight if anything because if I consider the features, the Yoshino provides less of everything. . . . it's a minimalist generator.

@leny7829
@leny7829 11 ай бұрын
@@johnnysweekends I know it is estimates in ideal conditions but thanks for explaining that the 6500 cycles is to the 50% level whereas "only" 3000 to the 80% level. That's important information as now seems comparable as for this criteria in deciding between Ecoflow v. Yoshino. The sales puffing of the 6500 would distract newbies like me so if you do make a head to head comparison, that'll be a good thing to point out. Solid state does seem like the future. Just purchased a computer with a solid state hard drive as my old spinning hard drive crashed on me. It would also be nice if you can comment if this MIGHT qualify for the 30% tax credit lit the Ecoflow is saying.

I have my doubts that this is even a SSB. I haven't seen anyone do a teardown to prove it, and by your own weights, it has nowhere near the Yoshino's claimed 2.5X energy density boost over traditional Li-ion chemistries. In fact, it appears to be slightly worse (for energy density) than the chemistry of the Ecoflow. Something is definitely fishy here, and I would not be surprised at all to see someone open this up and see a bunch of UPP batteries wired in series inside. Li-NMC is just the cathode chemistry, and this has been used in Li-ion batteries for decades, so that isn't an indicator of it being a SSB. However, since they do claim it is Li-NMC, that means volume changes are going to be a nightmare during charge cycles, so either they've fixed that with chemistry or there are a bunch of thin sheets bonded inside that unit, or it's not a SSB.

As the compact size and light weight are priorities of this unit, we believe 600W solar input fits within the application of this model. Also by maintaining 60V and 600W input we are able to achieve full ETL safety certification that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.

@@YoshinoPower Thank you for the explanation. But you need to understand that few people can get the full 600 watts into this machine-as the video shows the 60 volt limit means 300-400 watts is more realistic from most solar panels. People want a solar generator that they can use and charge in one day and this one can’t. Add an expansion battery and the situation gets twice as hard to recharge. For $3,000+ dollars the public expects better solar input. Just look at the comments and you’ll see a theme on this point.

Would it harm or impede the efficiency of the ecoflow delta pro to have it in a unheated garage where things may get cold enough to freeze or would it be better to put it in the house?
@johnnysweekends
@johnnysweekends 10 ай бұрын
Any power station or battery will do better in controlled conditions such as a 70 degree garage. You can still use these in harsh environments but charging at 32F and below is not possible till the unit warms up again and obviously over temp in extreme hot will cause problems as well. If you can keep it warmer that would be better. Some people use dc warmer blankets like heat pads for batteries and more. Cost is cheap and power draw is reasonable. I think some are thermostat controlled as well

At best, it's uses hybrid battery cells, but more likely they're lithium polymer pouch cells. If you really want to do a proper review, tear it down and check the cells. Who makes them? What battery chemistry is used? Will Proust did a teardown of a similar "solar generator" with similar specs and false SS claims. It did not go well... @peterryan7340 1. It’s a solid state battery per what the company states and from what we saw at the show in Vegas. Would they lie..? Not sure how you could determine it was nmc unless I took the unit apart. Maybe you should talk to them if you want exact clarification on that. 2. I provided one real life scenario for discharge rate or expected run time in a power outage. I then did a full discharge test at almost the exact test temp of 77F at the specified C rate. Did you even watch the video ? 3. I did not do recharge rates as many people typically dont as its not as useful data for most and most people move on from it so its waisted time and effort. 4. I have more knowledge on oscilloscopes then most people but not as much as a pro user who uses them every single day. Like you there are people who know way more than you and way less. So when it comes to these scopes I know more than the average but still learning as these are not something you learn in a year or two. Hence if there is a pro user watching I would love that input. Hence this is how you seek knowledge. Verse making assumptions on ones actions. 5. Why would I even discuss a nonsense comment? Let’s discuss something that is $5000 verses something that is $3000..?? Not exactly apples to apples at all is it? So how would you even compare the two. Nonsense comments will receive one in return if I have time. My 5kw battery is better than your 2.5kw battery. See how that looks. The Apollo is fine, but put a unit up against it that is close in specs or at least price. I hope this helps clear some things up for you.
