In this video, I will take you on an Indonesian street food tour in Medan to eat the best noodles in Asia.
To start our Indonesian street food tour in Medan, we had the most popular local noodles, Mie Balap. After that, we went to a legendary noodles spot for some Bihun Bebek, noodles with duck.
To continue our Indonesian street food tour in Medan, we had the most unique bowl of noodles of the day, Laksa Medan, and the best dessert noodles in Asia, Cendol.
After that, we had some incredible Bihun Ikan, a vermicelli noodles soup with fried fish.
Moving with our Indonesian street food tour in Medan, we had my absolute favourite bowl of noodles of the day, Bihun Kari, vermicelli noodles with a rich curry stock. After that, we went for the most surprising noodles of the day, Mie Aceh. What a dish!!

Attenzione! Your enthusiasm is contagious. I'm glad you were able to try the curry noodles at Tabona. I hope they met your expectations. It's a good idea to have a thematic video like this. My favorites are Bihun Kari and the last Kwetiau. Another Medanese noodle dish I would recommend is Mi Rebus. Different ethnic communities in Medan have different versions of the dish. Both the Chinese and Indian versions of Mi Rebus are good, but I would recommend the Indian version to give you a different taste of Medan. Cheers! 🍻

Laksa is ORIGINALY FROM INDONESIA. singapore and malaysia is just many of the Indonesia diaspora, just like madagaskar, Kaledonia, etc. they copy it from Indonesia, mostly from Sumatera and Java. Cendol is originaly from Java, Yogyakarta since so many centuries a go.

Ada 1 lagi mie ikonik Medan yang belum di coba, Max.. yaitu MiSop Kampung Kolibri yang di daerah Polonia . Ada juga Misop Kampung di jalan Bambu I dekat pekuburan Sutomo. Bisa masuk dari jalan Gaharu atau dari jalan Sutomo. Misop kampung ini Mihun dengan kuah sop yang segar. Dengan toppingnya yang full daging ayam. Kalau suka bisa di kasih juga cincangan tulang-tulang lunaknya. Di tambah lagi sidedish nya ada aneka gorengan dan aneka sate. Ada sate kerang, sate usus, sate ati ampela, sate telur puyuh dan kalau lagi beruntung ada sate jengkol juga 🤤
