I use a 1080 Ti Why not use Hardware NVENC HEVC over Hardware Nvidia NVENC H.264?

Also keep in mind if you still lagging after all the settings changes keep your game as low as possible don’t bother with ultra settings keep normal and at 60 fps. that well make the recording smooth and clear.

And you can limit your game capture framerate so obs won't try to keep up with your frames in game instead of obs fps setting.

they have back up batteries for computer which negate the worry about losing power. think of it like a generator that need to be charged.

One thing to note: If you put your sources in scenes, DO NOT use the audio panel to add them in as well. It echoes and distorts.

isn't CQP at 14 a bit too much? The files will be so large no? Is CQP better then VBR? If anyone knows how much does a 1 hour CQP recording weighs compared to a VBR

Hi , you can't compare it that way ! 1 hour of Call of Duty is much bigger in file size then 1 hour of Age of Empires for example.

You should have recorded some gameplay with those settings and shown the results. I have RTX 3080 and I can tell you that P5 preset is too much, even for a top-tier card like mine. It instantly overloads the encoding and the video ends up being a slide show.

I’ll be building my first dedicated streaming pc streaming on twitch with a c922 pro camera and capturing ps5 gameplay on hd60s* capture card. My resolution i play at on my gaming monitor and ps5 is 1440p 60/120fps, my question is should i use downscale feature on obs to 1080p 60fps or 720p 60 fps to get a crisp stream to my followers and at which bit rate? I will be plugged straight in using ethernet cord on both console and pc. I use fiber optics internet and on tester from both phone and console my download and upload are always 170-200mbps, on a bad day test so to speak, i have never saw below a 140mbps download 30mbps upload on console test reading and always 170 up and down on cell phone tester. Any insight to what resolution i should downscale to and what bit rate i should use would be appreciated. My build is ryzen 5 5600x cpu , gigabyte b550 aorus pro v2 motherboard, and rtx 3050gpu , 32gb 3200mhz ram/memory and 1tb samsung 980 pro PCIe 4.0x4 ssd storage. WHAT KILLS ME IS THIS. i have a liquid cooled 3080 extreme a ryzen 9 3900x and 64 gig if 3200mhz ram, and my recordings never look as good as my gameplay, even if i record at 40000, even tho i have used obs for years, and many many many settings, it just isnt all that crisp. annoying

I record using CQP 17, Preset: Slow (good quality), Tuning: High Quality, Profile: High. My recordings look amazing. Files sizes are ridiculously large though. about 100 gigs for 6 hours of recording. I play a lot of fps games, rpg, etc and all of my recordings look great. I used to record using CBR and 60k, but I had many issues with consistency and made the switch to CQP a few months ago. I'd recommend trying it out. Note: Hopefully you're recording using NVENC :)

Do you have a video explaining what the Audio Mixer versus Audio Tracks mean and how to set up dedicated mic paired with just video from a camera? I'm struggling to make sense of everything.

Did you add your audio devices manually or through the settings? And when you do add make sure in the recording tab you have the number of audio tracks you want, then you can go to where you see audio click the three dots, and select the audio tracks you want.

From the output tab to the streaming tab, what preset would be best on the encoder settings? I've seen your 'how to setup streaming on obs' video but since then the settings have changed for the presets. For example, instead of the top option saying "Max Quality" now it says "Fastest (lowest quality)". I'm confused now 😐

FYI AMD has the option of AMD HW H.264 in stead of the NVENC. Not sure what cards support it but I have an RX 5700 XT and I have that option available so that I don't have to use the CPU so much
