It’s all cute and fun and games until you’re in the position of the kid watching from the sidelines who wanted to compete but didn’t have enough space or money for a pony of her own, or the kid who got last place, crying her eyes out because she thought she was a failure.

@@MC62961 and? EVERY RIDER should have competent equitation. Hunter riders slack the most because they don't get judged on their eq, so they think they can get away with their issues. Equitation is for being the most efficient in helping your horse and staying out of their way so they can perform their job. Hunter riders do the opposite of that. Your exact mindset is the problem.

madeleine sophia good eq helps your horse. if a rider flops around with no balance, the horse won’t do well. but if a rider has a light seat and hands, and gives the right cues, the horse performs better.
