@@paulomc10-df I would guess that they specify that Budimir Šobats record is voluntary to differentiate it from other people, who have survived longer then that without air, for example people who have been through accidents at sea and been submerged for long periods of time. Budimir Šobat is not reaching the absolute limits of his potential in his record, because doing so would be very dangerous and potentially fatal.

@@MarcosSilva-bb2mj I would guess that there are people who have survived longer than that, but under life-threatening conditions that pushes the human body to its absolute limits, limits that's impossible to reach without putting your life on the line. For example: the current world record for longest period without sleep is 11 days, but the record holder could stop whenever he wanted. There have been cases of people staying awake for several months, but then it's because of medical reasons or torture, and it's extremely dangerous to put the human body and mind through such stress.

A lot of them could be broken if anyone could actually be bothered and has access to material. Breaking sugar bottles on head for example. It was an older guy. In the short video you could tell me missed grabbing two bottles once, and he also ran out of bottles. ...but who is actually going to be bothered to get a hold of so many bottles, especially to practise..
