Yes, must bounce or they can place to ground (touching ball to ground in hand) 'within' 15metres. This is judged by eye from the umpire, many times players will get away with a little more. Players generally know when to bounce with practice. If run further without bouncing then it's turnover to other team.

Yeah im a Richmond Supporter but I have to admit Josh Daicos should have got GOTY, I don't know how a ruckman who simply handballed to a teammate and then on the run snapped a goal from twenty-five metres out near on straight in front can beat someone who battled a few defenders ran around the boundary and then snapped truly from a much more difficult angle was overlooked. It's bullshit that they make out because your big you can't kick the ball FFS what a load of crap it all comes down to training and lots of practice and then after you have mastered the art of kicking your self-belief grows to the point you just do it instinctively like Eddie betts and Peter Daicos.
