Das Jahresende ist in Sicht und damit folgen meine Rückblicke 2023.
Als erstes starte ich mit einer Harvester Compilation. Hier verwende ich von mir gefilmten Harvester aus 2023.
Ein großes Dankeschön geht an die Maschinenführer und Forstbetriebe, welche sich ablichten lassen haben. Ohne Die läuft das hier nicht!!

Its hard to watch this mass destruction of forests, can they selectively log and not cut every tree.? Notice how the cutter wastes a foot or more of every tree? That adds up and wears out the cutters

Most of the trees are standing dead. It's use em or lose em. See the way the bark showes off. Live bark sticks like glue.

In some species like this spruce it is best to clearcut. It mimics natural disturbances like a windstorm or fire and promotes new seedling growth. Also spruce is likely to blow down if thinned so it would be wasted if it was selectively cut. In addition on these steep slopes it would be very hard to work around trees that were left. As the other commentator said most of this appears to be dead maybe from spruce budworm damage so they are salvaging what they can get out of it.
