What is your opinion regarding the technics AZ80, do they even come close to the Gemini as far as sound quality or are they in the same ball park as the Bose and Sony?

@@tracer073 there's a validity to a top 10 strictly for a year, but it's only in terms of keeping tabs on innovation. I'd say an all-time list is always more helpful as you can get the best in any category, regardless of release date. It would probably help save people money too, as older buds that make the list are inevitably going to on sale or cheaper than their release price.

I watched your videos of them again, and based on your overall statements on fit and sound, I bought the Free Pro Free, ($63 with a coupon on Amazon!) as I love the idea of their sound and working out and sleeping with them. The Liberty 4 NC has great sound, but they may need readjusting during exercise/running and you can't sleep with them. They both have great apps and they both provide updates to improve. But I've owned the Liberty 3 Pro and while I loved the sound, but the wings easily fell off and ruined the fit daily. So Earfun earned my purchase, thanks to great reviewers like yourself! I guess it depends on what's going on around me. If I need the best ANC, I go with either the QC Ultra, XM5, PerL Pro, 3ANC, etc.

As of right now, they're up there with the Denon PerL Pro and the Status Between 3ANC earbuds.

It depends on your musical preferences, if you value high quality music over other parameters the Gemini are the best choice among that list, if you one an all in one packages that offer better value for the money then the Bose and Sony earbuds should satisfy you more especially because they are cheaper.

Honestly, they would've gotten an honorable mention. They have really good sound, but they do not get loud enough. ANC is trash. And the app needs improvement. And I say this with the EQs being my best earbuds for most of '22.

Great review. I just finished your "Gauntlet Series - FINALE - Soundcore Liberty 4 NC vs. Earfun Air Pro 3." You picked Air Pro 3 as a winner there, but in this video, somehow, Soundcore Liberty 4 NC made it to the Top 10 but not. Earfun Air Pro 3, What was the reason behind it?

The Gauntlet Series results was based on sound alone. The Top Ten pick was based on all factors (Fit, Noise Cancelling, App Support, etc.). Although the Free Pro 3s sound better, they fell off in other areas compared to the others. This is why they didn't make my list.

The Top 5 is only based on sound. The Top 10 takes everthing into consideration (sound, bass, ANC, functionality, etc). Hope that clears it up for you.

Best job, I have 10, 8, returned the 6 -Jabra 10, xm5, Nura Pros (Denon), Status ANC3, from this list, my go to for conf. calls are # 10. Day to day use the ANC3 can't beat that sound, xm5s for working out. But I love the Status 3s. They are just awesome.

I like your list! I’d love to get the Gemini II and give them a try but they’re a little too expensive ;/ Also- Have you had any connectivity issues with the Bose QC Ultras? I’ve heard a lot of people have. Is it really that bad?

Yeah, the Gemini IIs are expensive. I did have connection issues with the QC Ultras and the app. But I haven't had any issues lately.

Hi, I own the PI72s (see my comments above) they sound nice, very nice till you put them back to back with some on this list. (Status between 3 anc much better imho) Add in their poor battery life, so so app and high price and personally I would avoid and I say that as a B&W fan (YMMV) Status best sound for low cost imho, if you want to spend big go Devialet Gemini 2, way better than the B&W in every regard.

In my opinion 3anc has no place in the top 5 but between the Gemini and Denon I prefer the Denon because the battery in the Gemini is really short 4hrs doesn’t make sense but in the other hand the Gemini has better ANC. Great job as always 👏

No love for the OnePlus Buds Pro2 for some reason. Best price to performance TWS in 2023. Better than the overrated Status 3ANC as were the Momentum 3 after their update, though they weren't released in '23 just the update was

Great video. I would personally rank the technics Az80 much higher (above the Sony definitely). I value their sound slightly more than the status 3anc. I agree with the Devialet Gemini ii. They are number 1. Unfortunately I'm returning them though. Bluetooth iems are not worth more than $300 (no matter how they sound) due to the fact that they will only last a few years (lithium battery would be worn out). And the Gemini already starts with subpar battery life. In 2 years they would be unusable I would rather buy a good $300 iems and use the fiio utws5 or the qudelix 5k.

The Devialet cost around $450 in the states. Using your 2 year metric that works out to about 60 cents per day for the very best sounding buds out there. I’d happily pay that…

@@1964karlos if you listen everyday (where you charge them everyday) then clearly less than 2 years. Plus these are well over 500 with taxes But that's not the important part. Out of the box they barely give me satisfactory battery life. Sometimes I like to just listen to music and watch movies for more than 4 hours. These barely cut it. Now in a few months I'll be getting less than that. 2-3 hours is not going to cut it for me. Iems last longer. Especially, connecting them to wireless options (fiio utws5, qudelix 5k, ifi, etc)

Great vid Ron. I've tried many of these and bought 13 pairs of tws this year. For my 2 cents the absolute best combination of price and performance is the status between 3 anc (on sale at £90) followed by the oppo Enco X2 which have Stella sound and can often be bagged at 50 percent off or £75 then the sennheiser 3 or jabra Elite Active 8. (My no 1 pick for sport & outdoor activities) I love my Devialet Gemini 1 but expensive (though worth it imho) creative Aurvana Ace 2 with xmems will also be a top buy when price drops. The technics AZ80 are the most technically competent on my list but too expensive V my top 3. My biggest regret was the B&W PI7 2s. I'm a B&W fan but the steep price for what they offer is terrible imho. Battery life poor, no eq, app is mediocre and sound quality below my top 6. If you really want to spend £350 for tws avoid the B&W and get the Devialet would be my advice.

Creative aurvana ace 2 for 150 is a steal they aren't dropping that price. I own them an they sound great. only problem is if you get a call while in ANC/ANC off of ambient you are stuck in that mode you have to hang up to switch out. But when doing anything else it's like a normal earbud except for that function. I've never had denon pros but reviews have compared it to that sound

The DENON PEARLS WOULD BE AT # 1 if all phones supported APTX LOSSLESS , Unfortunately as of right now only 1 phone ( ASUS Zenfone 10 ) Supports APTX LOSSLESS, so you’re forced to have that phone to experience those earbuds at their full potential.
