Great selection. I have 3 TWSBIs right now and they are a gem. Smooth writers, never disapoint and have a huge ink barel. When you fill them completely they hold up to three weeks. Insane For a fude nib i picked myself a hocoro dip pen, because i thought i probably would never use up an inked pen, but will see for the future And regarding the Hongdians, they are also a hidden gem. I have one M1 bullet pen and 2 C1 in extra fine and fine and they are great to write with. Smooth, no scratching. Which i cannot say about 2 of my Jinhao 100s :) the Asvines Vac pen is on my to buy list for the future Also having cheaper pens in a collection is nothing wrong, most of us either cannot afford the sailors or pilots, or as in my case i find it ridicoulos to pay so much for a pen. Although i have a Pelikan on my wishlist which costs arround 350 bucks. But that one probably stays on my wishlist .... I am not a fanatic colector to realy need that. I just keep dreaming

I have a list of Hongdian pens to try out. C1 is definitely on the list. Sadly, the Jinnah 82s and Centennial 100s are more often than not good for practicing nib tuning and a bit of grinding. I love TWSBIs all the time… I really just enjoy the different writing experiences and a good looking pen makes it better. I have two inexpensive Sailors I picked up on Amazon. I’m not really a big fan of the feedback and purely on appearance I can’t, for myself, justify the cost for a gold nib Pro Gear or 1911. Maybe someday but in the meantime there are so many pens out there to try, no way I could ever keep up. Thanks for watching❣️

Can I just say that I love my Pilot Vanishing Point? I have the matte black and I want more but I’m waiting for a colorway that brings me joy (the Taiwan and Whisky colors were so beautiful but also so so expensive 😩). Hopefully Pilot will bring out more colors. This is a great selection of cheap pens! I own a few of these myself ❤

I agree with you on the Pilot VP coloways...hopefully there will be something more reasonable some time soon. Thanks for watching❣️

You picked amazing pens! I haven't tried two of your top 3. Maybe in 2025 I recommend trying the Hongdian N23 with the medium long blade knife nib (something like that) 😅

I've been hearing about this long blade knife nib; I'm curious! I'm going to favorite the N23 now - thank you!

I love my Prera (which came with a converter) it was the demonstrator version, so not sure if that makes a difference. I got the cursive italic nib and it is a beautiful writer! I’ve also picked up two Jinhao 82s, and have a “Chinese pen list” of “to buys” since I’m on more of a budget and it’s a way for me to still enjoy the hobby. My first was the Kakuno Sport and that M1 is gorgeous!!! I’ll be adding that to my list! I agree, playing with different nibs is a lot of fun, as is playing with different inks. The Jinhao’s I picked specifically because I could change out size 6 and 8 nibs (and with one, Lamy nibs…I want to try their cursive italic/stub) so easily. Also, as someone who drops things a lot, I’d be scared to spend more than $50 on a pen and then ruin it. Thanks for doing this list. The nice thing about this hobby is you don’t have to spend zillions of dollars to have nice pens, inks and paper…or you can spend a lot and have a beautiful piece of art that is also a pen! (I drool over the Pelikan M800 in the classic Black and Green stripe!) I’ve also seen some great videos on nib grinding (wouldn’t worry about trying that with an inexpensive nib to have some fun) and hunting down vintage pens (my husband loves thrift and antique stores, so now I have something to look for myself in them!) The idea of the history of it, who has written with it, and how it has lasted intrigues me. Thanks so much for sharing your budget and dream pens of 2024 and I’m glad you’ve enjoyed them and look forward to what you use in 2025!😊

You really don't have to hundreds of dollars to enjoy this hobby. Asvine and Hongdian have been two consistently good brands for me and Jinhao seems to be improving their nibs - they have a capless pen now, too! Have fun and thanks for watching❣️

New subscriber- really enjoying your videos. I like your info and your style! I have a TWSBI demonstrator with a stub nib and the Asvine v200 and agree that they are both excellent writers, better nibs than some of my high end pens for sure. Thanks for this video!
