I'm 50 years old. Wanna hear TV magic? "Married...with Children" came out when I was 15-16 years old and couldn't give a shit less about TV. Too busy high-schooling, working for a few bucks, and BEING OUTSIDE. Now? THIS entire series on DVD is the ONLY show that plays on my 10 year old television, and $35 dvd player. Why? BECAUSE IT'S GOLD.

I agree. Typically, actors like to tweak their roles over time, based on the audience reaction. The first season of any series is always more of an "experiment" than anything else. Once the writers and actors on this show got comfortable with the level of craziness they could show without repercussions, they took it up a notch.
