Jin's whole plan was, by destroying Azazel, and killing himself, Heihachi, and Kazuya, he would destroy the Devil Gene and by doing that, he thought he would erase all evil on the planet. Obviously it failed.

I kinda like Tekken 7's story mode overall, but I do have to say this. Nothing happened. Ok, well, shit totally went down. That much is true. But at the end of the day nothing changed, Heihachi came back, did stuff that amounted to nothing, then was killed by Kazuya. All that really occurred is that now Jin's back.

Not gonna lie, this story mode was so offensively bad it ruined Tekken for me. It made the whole Mishima family conflict and devil gene seem so so fucking stupid The only thing Kazuya, Jin and Heihachi want in the world is to kill each other, but instead of just setting up a meeting and doing it they decide to wage wars and set up countless Tekken Tournaments and other convolutes plans as "bait" to draw each other out, despite the fact everyone is already extremely eager to kill one another

That was all kinds of a mess, but I do like that Heihachi's wife married him, was his wife for years, and bore him a son just so she could Devil Trigger and try to murder him in a fair fight instead of slitting his throat in his sleep on their honeymoon. Wait, no, that's also stupid. But if it weren't it could've been some good characterization for Heihachi.

The reporter bits are pretty awful, but other than that...I actually really liked Tekken 7's story mode. Like yeah it's stupid and goofy, but that's what I like about Tekken. And it was a stupid and goofy story well told (again, aside from the reporter) that didn't overstay its welcome. Also every scene Heihachi was in was either badass or genuinely heartbreaking.
