In my 70 yrs, I've had the privilege, pleasure, & happiness to share my life with 4 of these exceptional, adorable souls! I lost my last baby (he was 14 yrs old) two yrs ago. I miss him & each of the other 3 every day. Weims are very unique in 3 ways: (1) each has their own personality & ways of doing things, (2) they are such "clean freaks", & so easily housebroken..much easier than a child!, (3) stubborn as hell, but loyal to a fault!! I'm considering getting another; however, my energy level needs to increase. Even "elderly" Weims have an incredible energy, alertness, focus.

Unfortunately, not all breeders do that but you can always ask what their program of raising puppies is like.

you must love your job! its worth all the noise and cleaning to see so many puppies Edit you are a great breeder! wer got my old beagle of craigslist for 20 bucks and he was in awful living conditions but when you helped them over come a fear of water i had to write this!

We had a camp right on Elk Creek in Erie,Pa. The puppies were in the water as soon as we got them (I guess 8 weeks old) and as they grew a little they loved to swin in Lake Erie. Weims are the easiest dogs to train - they are so intelligent!

beautiful. Im thinking about getting a weimaraner. The only dog ive had was a labrador. Im looking for a breed with similar character but more atlethic body. Do you recommend me getting a weimaraner? Is their behavior similar to labradors?

Weimaraners are more slender and athletic. They are very smart and need to get trained and brain stimulated throughout their lives otherwise they may be mischievous. Also, they need a lot of exercising.

We let our buyers choose to keep tails or not before but now we keep tails on all puppies regardless. In USA it's AKC standard unfortunately. We bought all of our Weimaraners with docked tails. The most common reason for docking is when the dog is going to be a hunting dog, the docking prevents the tail from getting scratched from the barbs in bushes

Not sure how comfortable it is for tender pads to walk on rocks, due to their conformation and instability.

The rocks are small, flat, and smooth. Puppies love walking on rocks when they are outside. It doesn't hurt them. We haven't had any issues with any of our puppies because they walk on rocks.

Omg, it's AKC standard and vet does it when puppies are just 3-4 days old. Circumcision on boys is done more than cropping tails and Noone blames parents of cruelty!
