It's not on here, but Anthony's freehand semi-American traditional Eagle tattoo he did on the guys back is without doubt one of the best tattoos I've ever seen. Dude has a gift.

Yeah but when they’re taking black and grey the shading is a mixture of black and grey washes. American traditional does not use grey wash only black to achieve shading

I have to agree, I plan on getting a tattoo when I have the money to pay for one(and for when I'm legally able too, onr more year!) And I've been watching alot of Ink Master to see where the best placement for my first tat should maybe go. I know what I wanna get, and it's one I'm sure about, since it's really meaningful to me. Thing is I'm terrified so hopefully I'll figure it out

@@RunRabbitRUNRABBIT it also depends on you and your pain tolerance. My first tattoo was on the ribs and it didn’t hurt much and the second was a continuation of the first one and I sat for 4:30 hours and again didn’t hurt much🤷🏼‍♀️

I always thought they were too hard on Cleen and Sarah about their portraits being too dark because we all know that they will lighten when healed. Sometimes all the light soft grey disappears and then the tattoo doesn't look like the person anymore and you could end up having to get a touchup and went through the pain for nothing.

Anthony has poor anatomy at times. That face was way out of proportion. He only improves because he is so young. Clean has determination and is wonderfully loud. That is rare with artists. They cannot be compared. Too different people with different histories.

Honestly, the politician portrait tattoos... I get that the Hillary tattoo was good and accurate and well shaded but I actually got tears in my eyes when I saw Sausage's JFK tattoo. It was a weird reaction that I did not expect but I just thought it was so beautifully done and so real. I would have given it to Sausage just based on my visceral reaction. But then I'm not a tattoo artist so I don't know the technicalities. But I'll bet Sausage's canvas will never be sorry that they had him doing that tatoo.

Anthony’s woman head to head against Cleen had super weird arms. The way her arm came out of her hair on the right was too low and the forearms were really short. When they said it was realistic I was kind of shocked since they usually pick up in wrong proportions that are subtle and hard to notice

I have to be honest, it's really annoying when they complain about getting a brown skinned canvass. This should be a requirement for becoming a tattooist. What are you going to do? Turn away brown skinned customers? Ridiculous.

Exactly! If you know what you are doing and do it well, it shouldn’t matter if the client has dark skin or not. I’m black and my tattoo artist did a wonderful tattoo on my skin with lots of contrast and shading. She knew what she was doing to make it look good. Even on one of my tattoos she convinced me to put color in it since I was shy because of my skin color.
