I think what separates them from other let's players in that regard is that they're all hanging out together in a room while most let's players are sitting by themselves. Being with others makes it a lot more fun to collectively get loud. When I'm alone and scary shit happens in a game I sit there in silent dread with my heartrate getting faster and my eyes widening. When I'm with friends and scary shit happens in a game we start hollering and/or laughing.

I been through so much bullshit in my life, and its taken me a long time to realize this, but I really, really really really, miss my old friend. He was the only person in my life who, while a struggle to be around due to his notable neurodivergence paired with a conflicted home life, was always a friend to me and laughed with me. Even through the many conflicts we had over little things we always were friends at the end of the day laughing hysterically, with that unrepeatable childhood joy over something or another. My absolute best times of my life were with him, just playing minecraft on the xbox, playing outside with toys swords and guns pretending we were fighting off some apocalypse of robots or zombies. It was an incredible breath of fresh air from the terrible home life i was experiencing myself due to various deep traumas. Because of his quick-to-anger nature around certain topics due to his peculiar personality he taught me so much about kindness and patience, and I just feel so terribly to have grown distant and lost him over the years as we got older. We were friends since i was probably 8 or 9 and we started to grow distant when i was 13 or 14 for no real reason whatsoever. We just stopped talking so much, and then even more, and i just miss him so much man. Not to reiterate but because his parents were split, I would often end up sleeping at his dads house, who was a tech guy who made a lot of money and rented really nice houses where I live. It would be a completely different environment almost every time I went, and usually as I said a really great breath of fresh air from the constricted home life i was experiencing. 18 now, turning 19 very soon, and Ive been wondering alot these last couple years about why exactly i was having dreams every night in an grand amalgamation of the various houses I slept over in when I was with him at his dads and I realize now my brain just misses that connection so deeply. I feel lost, i really hope hes doing well
