Best of both? hybrid Gouache watercolour Pt 1

Hello you lovely lot!
First of all, I’d like to thank my lovely friend Emma for sending these to me!
So, what are these paints exactly? Well, they are a watercolour gouache hybrid!
I’m going to be taking a look at them as a watercolour for this video and as a gouache for a future video!
I wanted to see if it would be like using a gouache for a watercolour which in my opinion I’m not a fan of.
So get comfy or paint along with me as I take a look at how this intriguing medium performs!

@@KatyRylesArt If I come to the conclusion this works well I need to try it too. This paints might bring an end to my traveling decisions: take watercolor or gouache or both with me - but everything fills up the luggage and increases the weight of the rucksack ... So I hope you will test them as gouache soon. At the moment I take watercolor and a tube of white gouache with me when traveling...

I love that this hybrid has no color shift for the most part. If you’re working with gouache there’s always a color shift so it’s nice to see that the color shift was not there at least for this piece. Btw. It’s gorgeous. 🥰 I hope you are having a wonderful weekend 💕🤗

Thank you Creative Phenomenon Art 🥰 yes! Absolutely, the colours stayed quite true! They were a bit juicy in the tube and needed mixing quite a bit. But I was super impressed by how they moved over the paper as a watercolour. I can't wait to try them as a Gouache 🤩 I'm glad you enjoyed it and liked the outcome. Thank you Xoonani Art and Vanessa ♥️ I'm glad you enjoyed and liked the outcome. I'd say from my experience and comparing them to the gansai watercolour, they had a little more flow to them. I also noticed that the finish was more matte than the slight sheen that you get from gansai.
