There's tons on anime music like that too. It helped a lot in overcoming when I was struggling with a 15 yr bout of depression back in the day. It's always hard to put certain feelings into words, especially when you feel it needs to be explained in deep detail to even hope of getting the point across to the person or persons, simply so they can feel what you do. But this stuff makes me feel nostalgic as hell for stuff like golden sun or pokemon mystery dungeon, donkey kong country, older zeldas like LTTP or the oracle series, or shovel knight (even though that one is way newer)

Seeing this video in my subscription feed was like opening the mailbox and finding a letter from an old friend. I nearly cried when I pressed play and heard the first few strains of the music begin. Then I smiled and rocked out. There are so many wonderful artists whose work I only know because you make and share these compilations. I’ll always be grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

@@randomcookie2706Likely has heard it before, without realizing it is actually a genre now. Back in the day it used to be the way music was made for games (more chiptune, less sampling obviously), so I would not blame someone who did not play games back then OR is younger to not recognize this as a stylistic choice in some cases as well and as such a "genre".

Honestly, this genre is so retro and yet it sounds like it would fit in perfectly in a scifi world. This is something I can imagine myself listening to while walking through a dark narrow alleyway between 2 massive skyscrapers, lit up by neon lights

I just wanna comment on "if we ever gonna reach there" the fact that we currently have technology that people in even (for example) the Renaissance implies that we have, in fact reached there, and unless some mass extinction event (like your message may imply) we'll continue going "there" until we run out of new things to invent (if such a thing is possible) a "future sci-fi world" is too vague to really have any meaning.

The thing with she is that all of her albums sound like the same. Maybe with the exception of electric girl, which I consider quite unique. It's a great artist, yes, but honestly I consider It's not something for everyone.

@@networknomad5600 I never said otherwise... What I said, was that I found she's style of music unique when compared to a lot of *other* artists. I happen to like how she sounds quite a lot, and I haven't found another artist who replicates that same feel. So to me, it's a great thing that she's portfolio has so much music in that same style, because I don't really know anywhere else I can go to get that. If you happen to know any other artists that sound similar to she, though, please let me know! I'd love to check them out =)

Every time i hear one of these best of compilations i cant help but feel like we have very similar tastes in music. Makes me excited seeing them pop up in my recommended every time. As an old Gamer. I miss the Halsion days of yor when gamers were not even surrounded hy the negativity of Modern gaming but enjoying those sweet chip tunes of games and basking the depth of work and artistry be them Geek or Jock all rocked down to familiar chip tunes and appreciated more than ever how gamee brought us together. I miss that.

Modern games are expensive to make yet feel so cheap. Despite the limitations of the first consoles, developers used every last drop of creativity to squeeze out memorable games and fire soundtracks

I enjoy it mainly for the creativity that goes into it. Limitations force creativity. Modern music is great too, but the fact that composers can do so much can make music sound bland. Chiptune is so iconic that it created some of the most recognizable tunes.

@@fishmonger__ We kind of are... you never see pixel art in most games anymore, with the exception of indie games. I don't like the reputation of games that large game companies are giving people. Their games have insanely realistic graphics and yet provide much less of an experience than indie games with lesser graphics. I know plenty of people who won't even touch games without 4k graphics. They call themselves gamers and only play the overused stereotypical genre of fighting/FPS games with cutting-edge graphics. Not to say that there aren't good modern games, but lots of good-looking trash overshadows the mediocre-looking masterpieces
