@ because it’s a police vehicle, and not an ambulance. States like Michigan have extremely stringent rules on chases, pit, who can pull people over. A crime van like that here would have issues of it was a regular stop. But that situation can be be dangerous

That’s why I wish more states would implement the system that California uses. They have high way patrol cruiser stationed at every construction zone that has a flagger (I’m not sure about zones w/o the flagger though). It can be dangerous for the workers with these morons who shouldn’t be driving. Only downside is that it’d require more manpower, which means the department needs more funding, etc. Which is already hard enough for them with the libs trying to cut their funding, and making the police officer shortage.🤦‍♂️

In case anyone's wondering about that Sheriff's vehicle that looks like an ambulance, it's likely a crime scene truck. I live in a small town and about 20 years ago we had a double murder where an ex-husband killed his ex wife and he new boyfriend. Their daughter escaped through a window, and went the local party store. The cops swarmed that house, which was a problem house since it was involved in a murder back in the late 70s. I'm sure it's haunted. That same guy later killed a man walking his dog in the nearest city, two counties away, when the guy walking his dog had been watching him as he drove around the area numerous times, obviously lost. Anyway the sheriff's office, in the county seat had an ambulance type vehicle very similar to the one at #6. It's got a bunch of stuff that crime investigators need. Plus the one that was in my town also doubles as an ambulance. small county with no big cities.

I hope that isn't true. The rule that makes the most sense imo (GA) is if there's a concrete divider / any median in between the lanes the opposite lane is good to continue. If it's a stroad or just a lil two laner, both lanes of traffic has to come to a stop.

I live in that area, it is TN law you have to stop both sides with the central turn lane. My bf and I witnessed another person get pulled over for it to so we double-checked. Mt Juliet police are notorious for pulling ppl over, they don't play.

This is weird to me because in the state of Ohio, the driver on the other side wouldn't be ticketed as it is perfect legal to proceed if you're on the opposite side of traffic with 4 or more lanes. If there are four or more lanes the bus driver is required to drop the persons off on their residence side to avoid them having to cross the street Ohio revised code: 4511.75
