In case anyone's wondering about that Sheriff's vehicle that looks like an ambulance, it's likely a crime scene truck. I live in a small town and about 20 years ago we had a double murder where an ex-husband killed his ex wife and he new boyfriend. Their daughter escaped through a window, and went the local party store. The cops swarmed that house, which was a problem house since it was involved in a murder back in the late 70s. I'm sure it's haunted. That same guy later killed a man walking his dog in the nearest city, two counties away, when the guy walking his dog had been watching him as he drove around the area numerous times, obviously lost. Anyway the sheriff's office, in the county seat had an ambulance type vehicle very similar to the one at #6. It's got a bunch of stuff that crime investigators need. Plus the one that was in my town also doubles as an ambulance. small county with no big cities.

Especially when there's a turning lane in between. School buses are not unloading/picking up kids on both sides of the roads, so there's no reason for the opposite side to stop.

Few things: 1. They are passing on the right. 2. They are changing lanes to pass way too close to other vehicles. 3. They are not signalling their lane changes. 4. They are changing lanes way too quickly.

I hope that isn't true. The rule that makes the most sense imo (GA) is if there's a concrete divider / any median in between the lanes the opposite lane is good to continue. If it's a stroad or just a lil two laner, both lanes of traffic has to come to a stop.

Road in the video is a stroad, there isn't a median just a suicide lane in the middle. I do get the whole 4 lane thing, I think that makes sense, but I'd prefer all drivers to stop as long as there isn't a median - just to be sure.

This is weird to me because in the state of Ohio, the driver on the other side wouldn't be ticketed as it is perfect legal to proceed if you're on the opposite side of traffic with 4 or more lanes. If there are four or more lanes the bus driver is required to drop the persons off on their residence side to avoid them having to cross the street Ohio revised code: 4511.75

The law is also "Slow down OR move over" So long as you do one of the two, it's legal. So provided the car that got pulled over has a DC as well, they could get it dismissed.

But…that’s in Tennessee, gotta stop both directions unless it’s a physically divided highway (dividers, grass median, concrete barriers, etc). Basically if a car can drive on it, you’ve gotta stop. Unfortunately Tennessee does allow buses to drop off on opposite sides of the roadway, not the safest but that’s the law.

#5 is one I have a problem with. Why is there a req to stop going the opposite direction on a road of THAT size? There's no way that there's any state that actually would set up a bus stop like that where kids HAVE to cross 5 lanes of traffic, is there? Here in Illinois and, IIRC, the vast majority of states, that's not the law either - only same way for a road with 2 or more lanes in each direction. Making that the law is stupid.
