Yes! I can recommend the Bach cello suites as played by Pablo cassalles. I can put him through the big stereo and it's like the sound track of a movie where I'm getting epic stuff done.

For some thinking, "Hmm, that piece sounds familiar" (26:02 Preludes, Op. 28: No. 4 in E Minor ), It's the piece Jack Nicholson performs in the movie "Five Easy Pieces." Wonderful scene from a wonderful movie.

Every lead note that is struck always lands in unexpected places no matter how many times I hear it. The time signature is complex and still so simple. The phrase is all so familiar but because of that oddity in the timing makes relistening to it, much like the first time. Timeless time signature. Timeless melody. Timeless.

As suggested by another commenter, this video would be improved if it contained the names of each composition as performed. I had this same dilemma years ago, and finally gave in and purchased the complete works of Chopin - over 18 hours of music. After a while, i arrived at my own "Best of" list - a bit over 2 hours - but continue to add to it. I, too, find that each Chopin piece is always fresh when I listen to it, no matter how many times I've heard it, something I've never experienced with any other composer or artist. There's piano in everything Chopin wrote, and how he created an entire musical universe on a single instrument in 39 short years is truly beyond human comprehension.

If you hover your mouse, then you can see. Also the little red line has breaks at beginnings and endings. The titles are pretty boring, nothing exciting like "Baby, I Need You!" but well that's why Chopin is described as classical.

Interesting concept. If I had to guess, the IRS (at the time) was chasing him down for taxes when he had to come up with a song to delay the inevitable. It's a tragic reality. This is the story behind Chopin's songs...... all relate to tragic realities including love, taxes, and death.
