I will say, given that Arin does struggle with attention deficit (I forget if it's ADHD or ADD), and as someone whose brother and dad also have those (respective) conditions, it is absolutely very probable that having to talk is a handicap. And, of course, it's been shown in several episodes that when he's not focused on commentary, he can actually be quite good.

I want to play this game again after this playthrough. Haven’t since I was a kid. I beat Sonic 06 a few months ago and it was the scariest horror game I’ve ever played. Every time I got to the end of a level only for a glitch to game over me had me feeling things the scariest games ever couldn’t do.

@@espighty after you beat Sonic’s campaign the game stopped killing you nonstop and instead broke in other ways. There was a point in Shadow’s part were a green fog was everywhere and the frame rate went to 2 FPS. And in the final mission where you play as Tails the bridge you had to fly to wouldn’t spawn and the cars there just fell endlessly.

I can see why people hate arin saying he loves sonic when he reacts the way he does, and hate how much praise he gets from sonic team and sega despite it. But here's a hot take for you. Like arin, i too love sonic, and i also, like arin, know that sonic isn't the AAA 5 star 10/10 masterpiece that we all wish he could be, and after the fiasco that was Sonic Colors Ultimate's release, you know that too, deep down. But we all still love the blue dumbass because he's lovable and despite his games not being the best, we still enjoy playing them. If arin really hated sonic as much as you all think he does, i guarantee he wouldn't still be playing them. Sometimes playing a bad/glitchy version of a game, or a game you aren't very good at, can provide a lot more fun than playing a flawless game. And not to mention, it may seem like arin just kinda plays the bad versions of games for no apparent reason, but he does it because he *knows* they're bad, and he takes advantage of that so he can make fun of it because it's funny that way, and it is! "Oh but he's terrible at the games, and then blames the game for him fucking up!" Yeah! Because it's funnier that way! Do you think all these playthroughs would have been nearly as funny and successful if arin just said "oh that's my bad i fucked up" 30 times in an episode? No. But he knows deep down that 70% of it is his fault. and lets be real, most of it is his fault. 9 years of doing game grumps doesn't mean he's gonna be a master at games, especially since game grumps has played hundreds upon hundreds of games in its time! it's not like he's THAT stupid that he actually thinks *everything* is the game's fault. But its funnier when arin flies off the stage and hates it, than it would be if he flew off the stage and was like "yeah alright thats my fault oops." I do the same thing. Sometimes i know that something's my fault, but imagining that its just something that happens instead of something i did keeps me going a lot more than just telling myself i suck, and its more entertaining to the majority of people watching to have an overreaction than to underreact. Remember, these guys aren't just playing games, they're doing a comedy show. they're doing whatever they can to entertain the masses. and personally? they do a really damn good job at it. I say keep raging to the sky, Arin. He IS Grump, after all. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

I know that Arin must think that anyone who loves this game is crazy, but unironically I genuinely love this game, and it is my favorite Sonic game. Now... I definitely agree that there are numerous bugs with the game, but I love is despite those issues. The stories are fun, the characters are interesting, and the gameplay is diverse between the 3 character types. Plus the levels have a degree of height and nonlinearity to them. The only thing that I would push back on Arin with is that they played the worst version of Sonic Heroes. I've played it on PC and on GameCube, and it works like a charm, for the most part. I would love to see a remastered version of Sonic Heroes in the future.
