Yeah, we only heard of his reaction (CHE SCHIFO!) to sour cream in the ragù and we all agree with him, seriously. About that an uncomplete yet true answer to when the mushrooms go in is just somethimes, as a variation. I know that is not the pure traditional recipe but its actually done by Italians who know how their national cooking works. Variations exist, having ragù with sausage, mushrooms, hare, is not strange at all in Italy... I think I saw ragù Barilla with ham once, those are just jars but better then some arbitrary invention from a non Italian nor formed on the Italian canon cultural thief anyway. As last, I watched some of Gino's videos and I think he's a genuine Italian cook: y'all have the lucky chance to learn a thing or two.

Well i could here him say omega, but English isn’t my first language either. This is something that natives have problems with, especially if they only know one language. They might be so stuck in their dialect that they don’t even understand other dialects of their own language. But people who learn more languages and speak with others in a foreign language to both of them seems to get over the slightly wrongly pronouncination.

No quite different. Gino do not "play" the ignorant. With Gino, the thing is he's thinking in italian, and translating on the fly. A common problem of our generation, with English. I've somewhat teach myself english,he studied in a hotel school, and i know eg that my pronounciation is hilarious, but is hard change the way one build phrases, where we put emphasis, and how to pronounce, is like a "fingrerprint". Plus he's from Torre del greco, near Napoli, the sense of humor and the taste for the witty answer there is typical. (and even more strong up in Rome. )

@First Edition He is not faking it believe me. When you learn a foreign language as an adult you will always have an accent. As adults, we learn foreign languages with a different part of the brain than children hence we retain our first language accent. I have relatives who have lived for 40 years in the US and they have an extremely strong Italian accent when they speak English.

I am really part italian myself and speak some dialect, but born overseas. You know what makes this guy so NON-ITALIAN, is the sense of humor, creativity, and letting some of the BS go, without loosing any face at all, even in the public eye.
