TY for sharing! I enjoyed seeing what each trail looked like. Very helpful because I plan on visiting with 3 kids (age 4, 2.5, baby). Most likely will not do long hikes but enough so the kids get a taste of the rocks and Joshua Trees.

If you come back to Joshua Tree, you should return to the Cholla Cactus Garden right around sunset/dusk - the spines will seem to "glow". Also you should check out Ryan Mountain hiking trail, it's a great view but parking isn't great. If you can't park in the Ryan Mountain lot, you may have to try parking at Hall of Horrors or Oyster Bar and follow the road back to Ryan Mountain. Ryan Mountain's got a beautiful 360 sunset view at the top.

Went in early 2020. As I was circling around one of the big rock structures I was stopped by a hippie couple. He told me I was the chosen one and I had this special energy I give off.
