Alex went on to launch his own imprint, Mango Alley, several years later, but he remains a frequent Silk contributor. We look back upon his classics via Max Flyant's retrospective DJ mix, a touching tribute to his dear friend of many years.

Mango will always be #1 in my heart. In a way it's too depressing listening to this kind of music, even though it IS uplifting, and makes you feel like you're floating in the clouds... but then you have to come back to the reality of life. Or you get lost in the clouds and hours have gone by without even realizing it. Mango is also a good fruit, I used to eat so much of it, until I developed an allergy to it somehow, so heartbreaking. But I will never develop an allergy to the legendary producer, mango!

I started listening to Mango around 2006/2007, and that's when I first discovered Progressive House. His music sets the standard very, very high...He is, and will always be one of the founders of this genre. I'm disappointed you didn't include his best jems in this set Silk Music...I'll be making a summer mix soon! Possibly a "Best of" Mango Mix!
