If you want pops and fire you need to remap te engine. Basically it injects a little bit of fuel into the exhaust. It's sole purpose is to look cool and doesn't add anything to power. Your fuel economy is going to crash even more as well.

im guessing your engine could use some love and maybe a rebuild, as its probably not making as much compression as it should stock. rx8's should shoot flames stock at around 9k rpm

install a lame flame kit but get a decat and a catback exhaust and you can shoot some pretty mad flames without the need of a flame kit

So basically the electronic control unit tells the injectors to still inject fuel but not to ignite it when the Gaspedal is not pressed. That way he basically injects fuel into the exhaust, which is hot, thus the fuel burns in the exhaust and voila you got some flames. You can program it to do that.

ヤヌス・クレーマー actually you don’t need to do any of that with the rx8 and the rotary is inefficient when it comes to fuel consumption that it sprays excess fuel into the exhaust already without the need for tuning. So you can achieve flames with an rx8 just by removing the cat converter
