How this was a great rally driver and a genuine nice and jolly man. Did had the luck to talk to him at 2 occasions. And had the honour of helping him out when he had to restore his Manta 400 after it crashed out in a rally in Marocco. Thanks Guy for being the best driver ever behind the wheel of an Opel 400. I dare to say he was the best 400 driver that ever lived. Even better than Walter Röhrl and Jimmy McRae, behind the wheel of a 400.

Mon pilote préféré, j’ai eu la chance de le voir sur les spéciales, j’en ai un souvenir graver dans ma mémoire que se soit avec l’Ascona 400 ou la Manta 400, pour vous dire c’est la voiture de mes rêves (Manta 400)

Zeer bescheiden en kundige piloot in een van de prachtigste auto's, die Opel tekende naar mijn gevoel: simpel en efficiënt. Vele mensen weten niet, dat het motorblok ontstond uit een Opel Diesel 2.3 l, omdat dit blok dikker en sterker is dan een benzineblok. Uiteraard werd hij naar 2400 cc uitgeboord en werd vervolgens een benzinemotor met een cylinderkop van Cosworth. Maar Opel fabriceerde al zèlf een 16-klepper in 1913: 260 pk 12000 cc, 4 cylinder voor de race. Fijn om weten toch. Peter Verbeeck

Il y a environ 5 ans il a vendu ces 2 Manta 400's anciennes et tous les pièces 400. Il est retiré de la scène de rally.
