it puzzled Ravel over the popularity of this brilliant piece. "I've composed so much other music, yet I can't understand why "Bolero" is so beloved?" yes, it's the same melody over and over again and it has taken me thirty-five years to appreciate it and basically it's just for the percussion section to lead the tempo of it. I listen to it every six months or so.

Repetition in music can be a disaster or mesmerizing. And with the right conductor and orchestra it can be an explosion of color and sensuality. I have heard so many performances of this piece, some of them great, some of them absolutely boring, and some such as I just heard here, thrilling. There have been endless arguments among conductors as to the correct tempo. I feel if you respect the music and play it well then, the choice is yours. For me personally, I prefer the faster tempo. Kudos to the trombone player for getting that "hint" of jazziness. Also, a great big shout out for the audio engineers... no musician was left behind!

As a flautist or flute playing enthusiast, I'm really amazed by the flutes performance in this Bolero. The conductor and every single instrument player did amazing performance in my opinion. Thus, by far this is the best rendition of Bolero I've ever heard.

I have listened and watched this symphony play the Bolero every day for a year! Bravo! I was supposed to take a River Cruise to Budapest in August and hoped to visit this symphony! The coronavirus ended that trip! Next time! You all warm my heart! 💕🎶

I was 5 in 1963, my father put Bolero on the old 33 1/3 by the London Festival Orchestra, put me to sleep every time before the end…at full volume on the old Victrola! Now I can finally make it to the end. Fine hypotonic classic, well done 👍

Finally, a conductor who understands the nature of pacing. Other conductors would have a difficult time even spelling the word "evocative". This is, by far, the best performance I have found. Release this on a digital format, so I may purchase it!

Much as I love Ravels Bolero, I find that I'm falling off to sleep at this tempo as brilliant as these musicians are. Maybe I have gotten use to listening to Daniel Barumbraun he let's his orchestra swing into the melody and they sound magnificent.
