The issue with them being so private is they're just pretending at this point so now I don't see any signs. Nothing. If I worked with my gf/fiance/wife, I couldn't help but act like it and nobody should care. Because now it just feels like two friends got married. because they don’t want them being “married” affect their work in ANY way, they’re still colleagues in work first and it’s their *job* so you can’t expect them to be giggly and flirty in work, also they might have been but they might have been cut as well. if you do wanna see them “flirty”.. then i’d suggest courtney’s posts or stories, it’s slightly there, like 2 days ago, they posted shayne’s pic from an old sketch with “bad chem” playing or recently on one of the reddit stories, they both mentioned a story that happened (pancakes one).

two things can be true at once. rhett and link were (according to what we've been told) also happy for ian and anthony to be able to buy it back. from all their conversations about it, mythical was so much better than any other parent company would have been that it's not even close, but it's still a parent company and it's not the same as actually owning the thing you created and having full control over it, which to most people would be hugely exciting news, which is why it was such a big deal. there's a reason they never trashed mythical after leaving like they did with defy. because they (according to everything they've put out publicly) ARE very thankful to them and their help. it's kinda like how if you have a great relationship with your parents, that doesn't mean you'll never move out of their house

when you listen to these podcasts, you will hear that they had a hard time coming up with good content at that time. They were a little burned out and some thing weren't getting the views they thought they would. Fresh air with Anthony coming back, was a huge push for Smosh to become better again.

From what they've all said, Mythical was always supportive of whatever they had in mind - case in point the funeral roost of Rhett and Link. But it sounds like they never proactively gave ideas to everyone. It sounded like it was a "we're here if you need us, we'll listen, give you suggestions but you do your own thing". That in itself isn't bad and I remember Courtney at least liking the freedom. That said, maybe Mythical could have been more hands on and given more ideas BUT at the end of the day, they just aren't the fathers of Smosh.

I don’t think they weren’t appreciative of them, I mean they came on a couple TNTLs and had a blast from what it seemed. Plus the crossover with Trevor from GMM’s side and even the stuff they do with GMK sometimes. I think because Court and Shayne here were there the longest and knew Ian and Anthony they were just glad to see it be just like how Smosh started.
