I don't really watch competitive fighting games but I fell down a KZbin hole and my impressions from Fox and Sage's highlight videos is that they both train like anime characters, come in, and one will completely stomp the other into the ground, only for him to come back next episode in his upgraded super form that doubles his power level.

what do you mean a resurgence? SG's been fairly underground from the start. that said we've been increasing our numbers and making sure that the majority of the community can make it to a select few tourneys like Combo Breaker.

Ninja Seriously? I just got the game through Xbone backwards comparability and I can't put it down. I thought it was dead cuz there's no one online and tourneys don't show it on the main stage

that's because you're playing the Xbox Version. Thanks to Microsoft dragging their feet when it came to updates back in the past people just kinda left. [SG on the 360 is now up to date don't worry] If you want all of the players hop onto steam. as for tourney's there are select few where we get staging like CeoTaku and Combo Breaker. We have a tour all set up for this year actually. here is the list of tourneys we have planned out for people to come to: Defend the North CEOtaku Northeast Championships (NEC) Frosty Faustings Anime Ascension Northwest Majors (NWM) Combo Breaker this does not include online tourneys played on the Steam Version of the game. there are like 12 online tourneys.

Ps4 has respectable numbers due to it having online play with Ps3 and PsVita versions of the game. also Ps4 is used for tourneys like Combo Breaker.

he has been playing SG for about 5 years man. he put in a ton of work on learning SG, and for a time he was on par with a group of players who were also fairly good. Basically if you learn the fundamentals and you have some free time you can make stuff just like Sonic Fox.

Can someone please explain to me why the infinite prevention system didn't activate at 3:07. Those look like repetitive loops (Launch -> DiveChomp -> Attack -> Repeat).

He was hitting the assist so it can't trigger IPS, that's called a 'double snap', which is when you get a hit on two characters and snap them out in the corner, the point character then leaves the screen and you can combo the assist until it dies.

Anyone got any tips for a Peacock/BigBand/Beo team? I picked up SG not too long ago and those are the three characters I'm very interested in.

BrownieKuma72 practice those Peacock combos and try get assists that help maintain a long range game with peacock whenever possible because big band has his long punch move and Beowulf has a rushing grab that can be comboed off of.

When using Beo's headbutts/knees press down and kick instead of finishing the string to use his chair dance attack as a finish.

I'm a Beo/Band player, don't know much about Peacock. Big Band's Brass Knuckles H is fucking awesome for Peacock, to keep grounded enemies at bay. Beo's Chair Throw M and H can get jumping enemies. Alternatively, Band's Take The A-Train M for anti-air and Beo's command grab as an anti-ground is decent. Big Band has amazing defensive options for all situations. Giant Step H rids Peacock ground projectiles, shockwave hits Low while up close it hits Overhead. Beat Extend and A-Train might have meh endlag, but dish out good damage and start combos easily. I recommend running Band as Anchor, as he loves having meter. Beowulf is my favorite character. His command grab, Wulf Shoot, can be used after a blockstring to catch opponents. Use Band's A-Train M assist to create mixups if they jump away. Wild Blitzer is a good combo starter and combo extender, and can used to close the gap on zoners (he has trouble with Fukua and Robo Fortune, because they are so fast and can use projectile pressure and overwhelming speed). You can use chairless cr. HK to hit distant enemies and Cr. HP to hit airborne enemies. Both have 1 hit of armor, so chairless cr. HP can hit a Big Band using Brass Knuckles L and M, given he hasn't used his taunt (which is a buff) which gives extra armor.

BrownieKuma72 just pick two chars if you're a beginner. Three at a time are very difficult to manage and a lot of players use a two-chars team.

Depends on who's playing. Tier lists normally tell you who is the best but that is not always the case.

As i generally see it, filia is more for swift get in and out combos while fukua has more tools to mix and combo, but is slower due to not having a dash.

I'm new to watching Skullgirls how come no ones is using the IPS in tournament or are they using the max combo limits?

High Lvl players tend to stay away from getting IPS to trigger. this is because resetting the opponent early keeps the damage scaling low and to prevent the undizzy from getting too high. Remember the opponent can burst out if either the opponent tries to do an infinite combo but also if the undizzy bar is maxed out. This in turn makes the players go for a more reset/mixup mind set when they play, opting for more pressure type assists just in case if they miss the reset they can still have the opponent block giving them time to open them up.

parring in that situation wouldn't have really helped him. He would have still been 3/4th screen away and on low health. His options of approach are limited and very readable so if he were to do a brass knuckle Fukua would been able to block it and punish. Same goes for Heavy Giant Step Trip, Fukua could have jumped it and did air H-Fire Ball to tag Band's dome.

Fede 64 You need to parry each individual hit, and the window to parry is very small (making blocking a safer option more frequently). See 7:12 Also, they are really fast and can do crazy mixups using their projectiles and chip you out

I don't know how to feel about this. On one hand, I don't really care for Sonicfox. Nothing personal, just think his blue fox gimmick is a lame substitute for charisma. Plus, I'm not all that impressed by his Fukua since even a scrub like me can effectively use her without putting a lot of practice into it. On the other hand, Skullgirls is my favorite 2D fighter right now and I always like seeing it show up in my queue.
