@morganjanelle42822 жыл бұрын
Mike Parson Hallmark also removed the word 'ass' when Blanche mentioned an "I lost my ass in Vegas" cup in another episode. Hallmark _also_ completely stopped airing the rerun of the episode where Dorothy's son Michael announced that he was getting married to Lorraine, a black lady. The entire episode was banned (for awhile) from Hallmark because of the brief scene where Blanche and Rose walked out of the kitchen with mud (facial pack) on their faces into the living room where Lorraine, Lorraine's mother & her 2 aunts were standing. 😂

Patsy Ramsey (JonBenet's mother) was worse since she was forcing her into the pageants because she was obsessed with them, and was trying to live her dream through her daughter. When JonBenet refused, she beat her so bad that make up had to be used to hide the bruises.
@danielhainline8882 Жыл бұрын
@@WolfMaiden11 really? Patsy said JonBenet was her best friend besides being her daughter. She and John were going to name her Sarah or Caroline, but being the narcissists they were Patsy gave her the name John Bennett to honor John. JonBenet's middle name was almost Collette but Patsy gave her Patricia as a middle name. I think all they cared about was having an extension of themselves instead of a human being with her own thoughts, desires, and feelings!

It's great watching these clips and marvel how wonderful these 4 women were in their roles. My opinion and some critics too, the strongest actress was Rue. Though Blanche was rather provocative, she was also very complex. The scene between her and her granddaughter Melissa, shows that she wantes the happy family but stumbles often doing it. Blanche realized how fortunate she was to have her late husband George with her, and misses him all the time. It always sounded like when he passed away, the family fell apart. I just lost my mom 2 weeks ago and the 5 siblings are drifting apart. Sometimes when the glue of the family is gone, the togetherness isn't there anymore.

Interesting that the other 2 actresses could not sustain the success of Golden Girls when Bea Arthur left. Betty White seemed Very bitter about Arthur (work being essential to White) consistently taking a swipe at Arthur. 'Dorothy' was the grist to the mill of the comedy, her cynicism a foil to the gullability of 'Rose' & the Ego of 'Blanche' - 'Sophia' usually just spat out sarcastic dead-end one-liners.
