Jesse Nelson I don't know the specifics but if you're having trouble changing intervals/pitches practice lip slurs with all open and down the chromatic. Sing the pitch in your head before you play it

I honestly don't get how Wynton's fingerings are so fluent playing with the left hand. Does he play trumpet left-handed?
@meanathradon4 жыл бұрын
I believe he can play trumpet upside down which inverts the brain synapses to go to the left hand instead of the right hand.

Ive done that when I feel our pieces in the orchestra is too boring. They say its a good excercise, to get faster fingers on the right as well. How I dont know though
@colinberry7074 жыл бұрын
Wynton is left handed and he plays better than all the right-handed player.

What’s the trick for getting the high E
@theoolifent90746 жыл бұрын
B3T0R4H L!4N0Z push your bottom lip out. It may seem weird but if you can get used to it then you should be fine. If you have the money, buying a larger mouthpiece is also good. I use a schmid size 11 traditional and was able to move from a top c as my top note to a double c on my first practice with it
@unknownkingdom3 жыл бұрын
To get the high e you have to get high on e

As a horn player, it is so crazy how much of this becomes second nature.
@astro_manta97336 жыл бұрын
I'm a trombonist and looking at the french horn the bore is tiny. The mouthpiece has a diameter of about 17.5mm which is only 5mm larger than a trombone with no mouthpiece and playing trombone with no mouthpiece is hard, I tried it once. You guys must have lips of steel.

I'm actually surprised that many conductors can't play the horn. I thought you needed to be able to play every instrument at least a bit to be a conductor because you would need to know specificities and subtleties of the instruments including their range and the weird stuff you can do with them.
