To be honest it is easy in the wet. I used to hold my old car for 50mtrs sideways coming out of a bend. The skill is getting the back out in the dry at high speed...that is what seperates the men from the boys. This is why I don't get drifting...it's easy at the lowers speeds

Some years ago, a builder bought a plot of land behind my house and started building. He was told not to deliver anything on site until 7.00am, but frequently lorries arrived at 6.15, waking everyone up in the street. Fortunately, I knew that he lived in an isolated house with no neighbours. At 4.15 one Sunday morning, I pulled up outside his house and gave him a V8 TVR wake up call. He obeyed the rules after that.

Good video, nice to see the Forgotten TVR is not forgotten, it's the best and worst car I've ever owned in one, thought mine has broken down many times you can fix them with duck tape. But when it works my god you forgive it... love the dam thing

Can't agree with that. The Sagaris and the late 90s Cerbera Speed 6 and Speed 12 are some of the best looking cars, especially the Speed 6 or 12 from rear angled viewpoints.

god i really wish i could get my hands on one in America... I really love my 1994 Corvette but if I could snag a Chimaera, i think I'd be completely satisfied for the rest of my life having both unique sports cars, one from good ol' Bowling Green and one from where my great grandfather emigrated from. Both similarly powered V8s with fiberglass bodies, both very quirky and weird.

I got one just 2 days before Christmas. I've done 3000km in it already. Can't get enough of driving steep twisty mountain roads in the New Zealand Alps. The sounds alone are worth every penny 😊

TVR’s Speed series engines are have a 12:1 compression ratio despite being naturally aspirated. The engine has a compression rate that’s too high for turbos and super chargers. Completely insane.

God, I love TVR. Irrevocably defying our 'progress' to an enviro-crap version of tomorrow with good honest British horsepower and the sound of tearing carpet. I often wonder quite why they don't manufacture LHD versions for the American market, as I always thought there'd be a spot for exotic-looking cars with biblical quantities of power and dodgy handling at speed (but as the Yanks have never heard of corners, they should be okay.)

According to my quick 2 seconds of thinking, they're easily as safe as each other. Don't quote me on that. I only thought about it for 2 seconds

Great video thanks. Ive got to say these cars are much quicker than most cars because they weigh only 2300lbs. They really get up and go with all that noise. 4 sec to 60mph! They've been doing that performance since the 60's. The first grantura that got a ford 289 installed was 1965? That was dubbed a Griffith. The race chassis and double wishbone suspension all round gets good handling too. The street cars are very much race cars following this formula too! The Speed 12 maybe took the power too far as it had a 7.7 litre v 12 engine.

this is pretty awesome but I've never understood why the AJP8 engine fitted to the Cerbera doesn't sound as good as the earlier Rover V8s, or even the related Speed 6. An AJP8 when it's revved with standard exhaust set up sounds just like a 4-cyl hot hatch with a big tail pipe.

Are you the dude from texas lol? i think i spoke to you last year on another car video think you said you had a porsche 911 in the 80s? our roads are generally more narrow than the majority of roads in the US but we do have hard shoulders mate. Also the reason the roads are narrow is because a lot of them are basically tarcmacced over cobble stone horse and carriage roads from the 1700s and plus if we wanted to make our roads wider we'd have to knock down a LOT of historical buildings.

Blackpool gets some negative press mostly unfair, it is what it is and it's also a town that produced some of the most lairy great looking non conformist car's that ever lived TVR thought outside the box. While Porsche plowed on with the same formula pushing no boundaries playing it safe TVR took risks sometimes to there detriment. My point is I think companys like TVR we're the one's, not the only ones mind you that were willing to take risks which in the end other companies have benefited from and as a result of taking such heavy financial risks they struggled being a break even company when that feckless Russian took over and ran the company into the ground. I hope being an absolute TVR nut the new car transpires into production reality and this great name in motoring history becomes relivent once again.

That's because there is only 1 speed 12 and it lives in the Lakeland motor museum.. The owner brings it out for TVR shows, runs and the ocassionally other events.. Its a complete monster, that I've chased down a straight in my mates turbo charged Chimeara after the owner had the engine rebuilt. He was only on 3000rpm as still running it in but it still left us looking like a Toyota yaris🤣

It's a very distinct v8 sound. Not like a chevy LS which is found in every v8 conversion under the sun and has been done to death. All preference really but there's nothing like a tvr sound.

Not really. They are only unreliable if they are not serviced properly. The speed six is a proper race engine. There is a tvr for sale here that has done 142,000 miles.
