Seeing the death of MVCI makes me so sad...and the fact that Venom finally reappears in a Marvel v Capcom game only for the game to fail miserably. We probably won’t see Venom in another MVC game and that thought makes me want to lie down and cry because I’m such a huge fan of Venom, and he was so much fun and actually really good in this game.

Fighting game mechanics should be one of THE most important factors. Z People are just kinda lame. All you have to do is give fan service, and good graphics, and your fighting system can be complete SHIT and they will eat it up. That's why an absolute SHALLOW game like DBZF with a horrendously imbalanced roster can get praise. And a boring fighting system like Injustice 2 can get praise too. While MVCI which has probably the BEST fighting system in all of the vs series can have people holding grudges. Yea... YOUR favorite obscure character from a FAILED Capcom game that was relevent over a decade ago didn't make the cut. But other popular characters did make the cut. Why did MVCI get so much shit? 1) Xmen Fanboys rioted because the Xmen were not there, even though Marvels initiative of NOT pushing Xmen to WEAKEN Fox's grip on THEIR franchise was the RIGHT CALL, and a play that fucking WORKED, and now they have their shit back!!! 2) THEIR favorite obscure character didn't make the cut. WHich magically makes the whole roster trash, despite EVERY GOD DAMNED CHARACTER there is INCREDIBLY popular, and from high selling franchises. The only questionable one is Spencer, but Spencer WAS popular in UMVC3 because of the fun and different gameplay he had, and used a lot in and out of tournaments. Even though his design, and original game suck. He still offers gameplay diversity over almost any person in the old roster. So the argument boils down to: People fighting over a roster of popular characters, but mad THEIR popular character didn't get in. I'm seeing all kinda of demand for niche characters from long dead or failed franchises. I see folks mad that Power Stone characters are not in. I see people mad that the chick from AVP isn't there. Like... ok... WHO slot would THEY take? And why are they MORE deserving? 3) Mad at the art direction. Ok great... you're mad that it's not cartoony or cell shaded. But the graphics on PC version are still good, and many models are in fact more detailed, and textured than their MVC3 counterparts. I saw the issue is the FACE modeling of about 6 characters. Still... MVC3 also had some bad faces if you looked close. And low and washed out textures. Cell shading is NOT graphic intensive. Why it should not have gotten the shit it did: 1) Best fighting system of any Vs series game. 2) Far more balanced than any previous Vs series game. 3) Most franchise diversity of any vs game series. With the EXCEPTION of MEGA Man X (given 3 slots), slots are LIMITED to 2 characters per franchise. Unlike all the previous which were DOMINATED by Xmen, Street Fighter and DarkStalkers. IN MVC2 more than half of Capcoms roster was SF and Darkstalkers. No the Avengers don't count. Because each member (except Hawkeye and Black Widow) ARE their OWN franchise. They just happen to join a team series. Just like Justice League. Folks are mad Wesker isn't there... ok.. but what GAMEPLAY diversity does he bring??? The game is bursting already with speedy rush down characters..... And the game DOES need Big Bruisers too. There are 4 Big Bruisers in the game, and Nemesis is one of them. And he's actually USED a lot, and is a good character, and still one of RE's most popular bad guys... WTF does it matter if HE is there but not Wesker? They are BOTH popular RE baddies!!!!!! 4) Best Netcode of almost ANY online fighting game. Ok.. you say there has to be MORE than just good gameplay to stay afloat?? Well, there should also be more than just good presentation to stay afloat too... but we can't underestimate the power of bitter fanboys who wage a campaign against a game, flooding every comments section and message board in anger, screaming at everyone NOT to but this game.... And it worked. Honestly, had they just shut up and moved on, it would have done better. But flooding every review, telling everyone not to buy, and not allowing folks who like to game to ENJOY IT, without them going "I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!! YOU SHOULD TOO!!!" is what hurt it the most. The game had better tournament participation in 8 months, except 1 time than Injustice 2, Guilty Gear, and Blaze Blue did leading up to Evo announcements. But the Negative politics is what took it from the main stage.

Camron Cook If you think DBZ fighterz is super balanced I don't know what to tell ya man. When I said balanced I didn't mean a god tier. But rather TOO MANY of the roster just suck when going up against the others. That's why in DBZF almost everyone ends up using the same teams. In MVCI the only SUCKY character in the entire roster (gameplay wise) is Ryu. He has a hard time going up against the entire roster. Everyone else is capable on handling their own in high level play. Because unlike DBZF there are no "point" or "assist" characters. Everyone has to be able to be point in MVCI. Now... Dormamu and Dante were pretty broken, but both were nerfed. The only other "sucky" character is Black Panther, but not for the same reasons as Ryu. BP is "sucky" because he requires WAY TOO MUCH EXECUTION to use. The skill barrier to use him is high. TOO high for the damage he puts out. When you can Brain Dead characters like Sigma and do 50%, why use BP? And the other annoying thing about DBZF is TOO MANY MOVES ARE PLUS ON BLOCK for too many!!! So many can just rush down, and stun lock people, because they don't have to stop attacking. Especially Adult Gohan. At least in MVCI for the most part you need to burn meter to lock people down. But you're able to do a better job at pushback on block.
