@@sittkukk8278 I have the embody as well. The only thing that’s strange is not having adjustable lumbar support for the price point. What’s possibly more strange though as someone with lower back pain, the backrest on the embody works super well for me lol. It took me some time to dial it in, but I got it just right, and man is it comfortable. I also have bad tailbone pain, but the seat pan on the embody tremendously helps compared to other office chairs I’ve used cause it’s kind of springy, but still firm enough to promote good posture 😊

When I was testing Embody and Aeron for two weeks, I picked Aeron at the end because of its intended purpose - productivity and focus. To be honest, Embody is a lot more comfortable than Aersn but because it's so comfy that I can end up slouching and just feeling too relaxed - PERFECT for gaming, chilling, watching movies, etc. 😅 Aeron forces you to sit in a certain posture that does not let you slouch and puts you in the working mode. I work home office full-time. Aeron is still overall comfortable though. Embody would be perfect after work and chill.
@jamvng

Similar reason I got the Aeron. I want to be sitting properly more times than not. When working without question. But even gaming good posture is important. Especially for long sessions with K&M. When kicking back it’s still comfortable. Recline is amazing on the Aeron.
@StardustLegacyFighter
@StardustLegacyFighter Жыл бұрын
@@jamvng I have the same reasoning. I use the Aeron for work in the neutral position, and occasionally recline to stretch my back. When I'm gaming, especially when I'm playing FPS games, I find the forward position really comfortable and supportive. I do feel the Embody would probably be more comfortable, if I was a controller player.

@Le Justicier du Net I did actually buy the Atlas headrest a while back, however it ended up causing me a lot of neck pain. I reckon it was because I didn't actually need it, since I have the size c chair and the backrest is high enough. It's definitely a great addition to the Aeron if you're the right fit for it, but it's something you have to try first.

@dubble
@dubble Жыл бұрын
@@Kara51100 The C is a risky pick at 6'3. I'm 6'3 and yet my legs are too short for the C Aeron. The seat is way too wide at 85kg as well. The only way to recommend it at 6'3" is if your legs are really long and you weigh >100 kg. For me, the B is a great fit and the back is long enough, although the lumbar support hits a little better from the C. But B base with C back is not an option, so the B works just fine.

@@KoNViiKz It's not bad at all, but it's quite aggressive, so it's not going to be comfortable for everyone. Unlike chairs like the Aeron or Leap v2, where you can loosen the lumbar support completely, the Fern's lumbar support only has height adjustment.

If anyone is thinking about buying one of those ~$200 gaming chairs with pillows and footrests on Amazon... SAVE YOUR BACK, SANITY AND MONEY. DON'T BUY ONE FOR THE LOVE OF CHAIRS. My Ticova arrived today and boy am I happy that I was able to get a partial 3/4 refund for the hunk of junk $200 gaming chair I just bought. I couldn't even sit in that $200 gaming chair for an hour even after owning it for 3 months. After all the tailbone and back/neck pain, I was literally forced to look for a new chair because I couldn't stand the pain anymore. I was in between the Ticova and the Clatina Mellet for a couple days after watching many of these videos. I ended up getting the Ticova for $140 USD on an Amazon sale and then I bought a $20 accidental insurance plan because I was quite sold after watching many videos between the Ticova and Mellet. I have comfortably been sitting in the Ticova for well over 3 hours now. Extremely impressed right now to the point I laughed when I sat first in the Ticova because I couldn't believe the comfort. What a sleeper chair as it is insanely good for the price. Perfect? Nope, but 1000x better than the $200 gaming chair I just sent back and got a partial refund for. Thanks for the awesome videos BTODtv, you saved my sanity putting hours towards trying to fish through fake Amazon reviews to find a budget chair that has some quality!

After your recommendation for the Ticova Ergonomic Chair, I purchased it for $175. It is easily an F TIER... The hydraulic doesn't support 60lbs under the max weight rating. The seat is too stiff and hurts after a few hours. If you try to adjust your posture and sit up straight, pushing elbows onto armrest, the arm rests will turn or slide back since they do not have a locking feature. Now I'm out $175 and still need a new chair...

You guys have any thoughts about the Herman Miller Mirra 2? No longer worthy of ranking? I'm debating whether to buy a new chair or ship that over from my old place (just moved), but the two things I didn't really like about it were the hard and sometimes intrusive frame on the seat and the mesh material not being as comfortable as the Aeron's. It does have best in class recline and forward tilt features though in my opinion, and I was generally able to sit all day without issues (though probably not the BEST chair for posture). Considering the OM Yes instead because that looks insanely comfortable. What do you guys think, stick with the Mirra 2 or go for something new like the OM Yes?

Very few chairs have cushy but supportive seats, and these are the two that I think of based on previous reviews. I just received my Haworth Fern Digital Knit in Nautical Orange. Overall, I find it to be far better functionally and aesthetically than my Aeron Remastered in Size C Large. The Aeron has been cutting into my leg circulation in a major way since I’ve gained weight, so I’m definitely selling the Aeron. However, the Aeron did have fairly amazing build quality, very nice firmly adjusting and perfectly positioned black leather arms, and a top shelf recline functionality. The Fern has an amazing, flexible backrest design, the digital knit material is super comfortable, the Nautical Orange color rocks, the design is something that belongs on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, and it has excellent reclining, all thumbs up on these checkboxes. Also, the Fern’s seat has an ideal firmness that is also very decent at pressure relieving. Still, I wish that the seat cushion size was a just a bit longer and wider overall, as I am bigger currently, and I feel like I’m just recentering a bit too much. And the adjustment tensions for the Fern’s arms are far too loose, and worse, they lack that last bit of outwards adjustment for me. My arms just naturally fall an inch or two more outwards. I can not see an easy way to fix the Fern’s slightly modest seat size, and honestly it’s mostly my body at fault, not the chair as much - I’ll just have to lose some weight. However, after studying the Fern’s arms, they are just bolted on the frame. It should be easy enough to engineer a bit of metal to act as outwards extension bars for the Fern’s adjustable arms. Yet why stop there, the Aaron’s black leather arms would be aces if bolted and welded onto the Fern. Alternatively I could frankenstein Amia arms onto the Fern. Then the chair could be perfect!! I shall call it the Fermia.

I realized that I don't really care for a chair with much padding (I could be comfortable on a metal box) so not sure how to interpret this chair tier list. I heard about the swopper but I'm still interested in getting something to recline in and rest my head on with very good build quality as I am a big tall guy and break a lot of chairs. I also don't like it when the arm rests get in the way of the desk. Not sure if I even need them at all. I've always been the type to rest my arms on the desk while using my mouse and keyboard as I get very sore on the elbows. Maybe the Steelcase Series 1 Armless would be good but it doesn't have a headrest.

I need a chair with the seat and back reclining together to create a zero gravity effect. If the seat stays stationary and the back reclines on its own my spine hurts so much. It seems you can't get this locked tilt feature with any of these?

@btodtv - Does the Newtral's construction hold up over time? Not sure if you've seen anyone have a chance to really put it through its paces. It looks intriguing. What does "weirdly good" mean?

It would be helpful to have a smaller person also weighing in. Most of the lower scores seem to be as a result of your size in relation to the chair.

Great list! I get some tailbone pain when sitting for long hours. Which chairs from this list have the most comfortable seat for longer sitting working and gaming (8-10 hours)?
@StardustLegacyFighter
@StardustLegacyFighter Жыл бұрын
All the ones in the S and A tiers tbh. Generally speaking, foam pad seats are considered to be the most comfortable and the least divisive. However, if you're a fan of mesh chairs, then the Aeron is the best. It's also important to consider the backrest too, since certain office chairs from furniture companies like Herman Miller have sacral support, which does a fantastic job of preventing tailbone pain.

What size Aeron does Robert use? He's pretty much the same height and build as me, and i think i am gonna go out on a limb and get an Aeron but hear conflicting opinions on b or c. Would be much appreciated.
@jamvng
@jamvng Жыл бұрын
I'm 5'10-11" ish and I think I'm near the edge of where the B is ideal. It's hard to say at the end of the day without trying it, since the seat depth and back length is set based on the size, but everyone has different proportions.
@StardustLegacyFighter

@Le Justicier du Net I wouldn't say the size c is only meant for really big ppl. If you have tall legs (like myself) that make the size b seat look small, then the size c is usually the better option.

how tall and heavy are these guys? I see them being somewhere around 6'+ and all three of them at least being 190lbs. each; some of these chairs are definitely not going to work out for them and I wish they were a little more transparent about that.

Love the commentary and your reviews. They are very too the point. But what are your guys’ anatomical measurements? It’s hard to tell in the video, but you three seem to be similar heights and weights. I think we know that these variables will play a big role in whether a chair is comfortable. Having a more diverse panel could be more valuable to your audience, unless you want to cater to relatively skinny men. Putting a couple women on your panel would be great to include to.

It would have been nice to have a woman reviewer on this review. I'm 5'2" and have a difficult time finding a comfortable chair. I work hybrid from home and in-office - on my laptop all day. I have to find a decent chair. Years ago a former company actually bought me the Humanscale Freedom Task chair, which the distributor company sent a rep out to adjust it for me (at $1000 back in 2003 it was the least they could do). Overall it was really comfortable for me but the headrest was too high to use due to my height. I'd really need a showroom to try out all of these chairs.

Hey BTODtv, it would be great if you would state the height of the person who is testing the chair(s). I'm looking for a chair for a 6'6'' person but in most(!) of the reviews (everywhere) people don't mention that. At the moment I'm trying to decide between Steelcase Amia vs Steelcase Gesture. What do you think for a person that tall? Thanks in advance.
@btodtv

We do in some videos, but could be more consistent. I would look at the Leap or Gesture if you’re 6’6”. The Amia will be too small -Greg

@@btodtv Greg! You have no idea how much you've helped me. I was just about to decide but was still unsure (had to do it today)...Thank you! p.s. Thanks for even considering what I suggested about stating the height (maybe even add weight) of the testers. I think I saw that in one of your previous Tier List videos or something like that.

It does depend on the material used tbh, I think Sync seems to be the best material for comfort. I believe Balance and Rythm have both been discontinued for some reason, and Medley is a cheap Chinese made fabric.

Have a herniated disk in L4/L5 region. I have heard that the V2 does cause discomfort in tailbone, lowerback area which is what I'm trying to prevent since i mostly WFH. I do like that the V2 is more comfortable for the legs since i have long legs. Anyone with lower backbone who has tried both have any suggestions? My current chair, not an office chair, gives me back soreness if i sit too long amd would obviously like to avoid that. Sorry. Pasted this in a couple vids but don't want to type it all out.
