I saw this piece at my local Omega-approved jewellery shop earlier today. It was very quiet when I went in, and the staff kindly took it out of the display for me and allowed me to look it over. It's absolutely beautiful in person - not a single one of the photographs that I have seen of it does it justice. It's perfectly proportioned, beautifully designed and brilliantly engineered; the movement is something to behold. My parents very kindly and generously gifted the latest version of the Speedmaster Professional (sapphire sandwich) to me for my 18th birthday, and I have to say that when I took my watch off and looked at the movements side-by-side, I was blown away by the finishing on the CK859. Visually speaking, the CK859's movement isn't as complicated as the 3861 movement, but I think that it packs just as much of a punch in terms of overall visual impact. It's a gorgeous watch, and I would very happily add one to my collection if I had a spare pile of £'s lying around! Fantastic video as per usual, Bruce. Thank you for making such great content.

Own this one and absolutely love it. Was the first to get it from Brad at Brent Miller following the watch meet-up. What really surprised me with it is how versatile it actually is, depending on straps. It'll serve as my dress watch, but I also love throwing it on a NATO. Also, these are the best freaking hands I've ever seen on any watch. In person, the blue when it catches the light is incredibly satisfying. In ownership, the Ag925 doesn't bother me at all. I stopped noticing it within a couple days. I actually like it, to highlight the heirloom quality you're getting with the silver dial.

I also own it and agree that the Ag925 is not really noticeable in real life. It looks much more prominent in the shots here. I don't ever notice it while wearing the watch, which I love overall.

I also own this, it's an absolute belter
@bobj88772 жыл бұрын
Omega has already discontinued this watch, which makes me even happier to own it! Rather than a set number limited edition, they went with a time limited production and kept the release and the long term plans for the watch silent. The uniqueness of all this makes the watch all the more special.

Got this one a few weeks ago, I haven't wore it mush but I could look at it all-day long. Stunning watch, got No 136 so a low number. I bought the last one of three available in Belfast Northern Ireland so consider myself lucky to own it. im usually a Rolex man but I couldn't look away from this watch so I had to have it. great video Bruce, thanks

Oh did you get it from Lunns? Mine is number 1619 from Lunns, interesting that they had 3 for sale and interesting that their numbers aren't sequential

@@brysoga Hey George ,, that is interesting refs the numbers being so far apart. I wasn't able to find out how high the numbers would go but it doesn't say that its limed only that they are numbered but what a cracking watch it is. Actually went in for a speedmaster but seen the CK and had to have it. health to wear. Martin

Thanks for continuing to spotlight Omega, huge fan here! Honestly, as much as I love this watch, I'd probably go for the Cartier Santos MD/LG in place of this one to fill my dress watch void in this price range. Great that there are options out there for everyone's tastes. Thanks for the review!
@Mega-zi7ys2 жыл бұрын
Santos is more dainty for a men while the XL looks out.of propertion...had the galbee before. Felt that way. Also i would think the movement on the ck is superior to the Cartier Santos. Regards

Very attractive. I was at Omega's boutique in Bienne last month and tried on the new Speedmaster '57 and that was an amazing release, too. Not to mention the gold Speedmaster with the green dial. Also gorgeous but beyond my budget.

I'm glad that you've chosen this watch to review because I've been curious about it. I agree that with producing and releasing this watch, Omega has made very sound decisions - conceptually and also in the great execution. The AG925 designation is not a problem to me. At least they did not use the actual word "silver". I agree with Bruce regarding the sentiment that something is missing in the value proposition of the watch as Omega has positioned the pricing. The watch absolutely should have come with an upgraded strap (for example - the Casa Fagliano straps that Jaeger Lecoultre is offering on some of their watches). Also - it should have come with a deployment clasp. Both of those things of course can be addressed, but again - at an increased investment. Good review.

Beautiful watch and unlike anything I've seen from recent Omega offerings. That movement is a something to look at! I know you're a bracelet guy, but it looked good on your wrist.

Absolutely LOVE these older era dials. I wish some of the more mid range companies would make more retro design watches likenthisnamd like the old racing ones with all the wild designs. Even jf they put a high end quartz in it I'd be all about it. Honestly as much as I love automatics, I actually prefer high end quartz quite often. Cheaper, perfect accuracy and practically maintenance free.

A great classic style watch. It's additional cost compared to other Omega watch ranges is probably due to smaller production volumes. Personally I don't mind the silver element Ag symbol on the dial. Maybe I could be tempted at some point in the future.

Love the channel, great content. I've just bought this watch and it is beautiful, I agree with most of what you say, but the sterling silver marking is so incredibly small that it's not even a problem and it certainly doesn't detract from the dial.

Great review, just one comment... I think a bracelet would be really out of place on this watch. It is from a time when the leather strap reigned king. A quick adjust strap, much like Longines makes would be super. As someone who generally prefers straps, I often find my wrist residing somewhere between two pin holes on the strap!

I actually reached my limit i guess, but that watch would be another one for me to enjoy! Love this watch except for the Ag925 on the dial. Omega needs to stop putting that info on the dials of their recreations. Just put the info on the caseback. I really want to see this watch in the metal.

Yeah that light gray AU.959 mark on the dial isn’t nearly as obtrusive as you make it. I think that they only get 72h out of those duel barrels on a hand wined movement is more uninteresting….

A bit weird to see the very non-vintage, modern even futuristic looking movement on the back… If all we can see is the balance wheel from the movement, they might as well close up the back completely.
