Same with the base game, some spell affects are unoptimized for example the frenzied fire/spell affects, everytime an enemy casts it my fps drops to 58-47 for a second, reguardless of graphics settings and resolution, same thing goes for dragonfire.

Just to add, I noticed input lag when I play Elden ring, I fixed it by capping the FPS to 59.930 using RTSS FPS limiter and it fixed it for me. Capping it to 59 using Nvidia control panel adds stutters for some reason.

It doesn't matter the graphic configuration as much as they think, even if you set it to low settings or max settings, it's not a graphic problem, it's a problem of the game code + easy anticheat + fromsoftware doesn't know how to program an open world game with ds3 graphics, the inexperience in open world becomes evident.

@@billymumford962 mine ended up stuttering so I had to change the CPU affinity in task manager, as a result of this I noticed less frame drops and when they did occur it was much less impactful and only drop to the 50s rather than the 40 mark. maybe you can try this :)

Heads up guys the dlc takes a ton of usage on effects quality lowering the effects quality gave me an fps boost in the graveyard from 50-60. Although fire giant still breaks the performance.

texture quality setting in elden ring does't change textures, it's only anisotropic filtering so no vram is changing.

The DLC patch broke performance, I'll randomly have massive dips when my GPU as at 60% or so, and I have a 5950x, so there's absolutely no excuse for CPU bottlenecking

Makes no sense at all you tweaking your settings and playing outside of the DLC region, if you really mean it, just enter the DLC and show us how it is running for you...

If you have a high end PC then I highly recommend unlocking the framerate and increasing the FOV.

I have a 4070ti and an i7-8700k. And no matter what settings I change, the FPS remains poor. For the sake of the test, I even set everything to the lowest resolution, 720. And my fps is still exactly the same low as at maximum settings. This is terrible

your CPU is very weak, that is what is causing stutters. I had the same problem, changing cpu fixed it. Also the fact that u get same fps with lower resolution further proves my point. If cpu is too weak compared to graphics card you will get same performance no matter the graphics settings.,

fullscreen mode gives me more input lag, I use borderless windowed mode & I use a program called "Bordless gaming" so I can fullscreen on borderless
