Slight Correction: Thanks to one of the commentators for correcting me :-). When I was going over GeneratePress, I didn't realize that you don't need to have the pro version of their block package. When the commentator told me this, I quickly tested it, and sure enough, he was right. So my apologies there, it was completely unintentional.

I'd really love to see a Toolset review/tutorial!
@kevinschmidt22103 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I see the value in Toolset, but I can't figure out how to take advantage of their features with Kadence and Woocommerce. Their tutorials need tutorials to understand their tutorials. They could use Adam's help because knows that we don't know. That's the best place to start a tutorial. Start slow, but end fast!
@nchomey3 жыл бұрын
@@kevinschmidt2210 Absolutely. Its a wonderful product and the tech support is super talented and helpful - which is a rarity. The tutorials tend to be good for what they are, but I find they are generally quite simplistic walkthroughs that exist in a silo. What they lack is a higher level conceptual explanation of what is going on and how things work together. e.g. When to use a view or archive, and what functional differences do they offer? There's no real explanation of this and it was like pulling teeth to get an answer, which I never really completely received. Its also confusing that they have two versions of documentation - blocks and legacy - and its not clear how to do some of the more complicated legacy things in blocks
@kevinschmidt22103 жыл бұрын
@@nchomey Yes, I don't like it when a tutorial is nothing but a step by step recipe and not an explanation of the underlying concepts.
@nchomey3 жыл бұрын
@@kevinschmidt2210 Exactly. We can read/follow a GUI, but most people who turn to Toolset do so because we don't have a clue. Anyway, I don't mean to rag on it - its a great tool and the support has generally been fantastic, which makes it a uniquely wonderful experience so far in my WP development journey in which most services just say "hire someone (us)" Adam, please help fill the conceptual gap! I'd be happy to give feedback while you plan what to include in the tutorial!

Go Pods, go Kadence! Love Pods!!!

Nice video, Adam. I've just redesigned my website with Kadence theme. The advantage of Jet Engine / Crocoblock though is that it can create both custom post types and custom fields (to name just two). I like the way Crocoblock are integrating more with default blocks, e.g. dynamic content, and I think they could steal a march on the competition as default blocks usurps Elementor for custom content.

Thanks a lot! Can you continue with “filter” posts for custom post types in Kadence?

How do I create dynamic content in archive in Kaence? Can you use real estate as an example?

now 2 years later, what would you use for dynamic content. I am using wordpress gutenberg and spectra. But if it is in elementor that would be fine too. I am looking for a free version.

do we have any recommendation engines like, in Medium like blogs we select our interests and similar blogs appear to us rather than whole medium blogs.

Sorry off topic, but I'm at my wits end. I would like to put text over a header photo. I do not want to use the Cover Block as it does not maintain the same aspect ratio over different devices. An Advanced photo in a section will maintain the same aspect ratio over devices. In the past I have used Negative margin (on text in a row below the photo) to move the text over the photo but this is a very clunky way to do it. Do you have any insights into a better way ?
