Heading to Zion this August. Was there in 2018. Breathtaking. Hiked the Narrows, which was unique. Didn't have time for Angel's Landing. We've put in for the lottery. Will find out if we get a permit in a few weeks. If we do, I'll give it a try. Can't wait to hike to Observation Point and Canyon Overlook. Thanks for the great videos!

My dad and I backpacked Zion in Oct a few years back and on the one night we were hammock camping it got down into the single digits (when factoring wind chill). Hi Randy, thank you for a fun and very beautiful video. As you have probably guessed, Zion is my absolute favorite National Park. I hope you can hike to Observation Point from the bottom up when the trail is repaired; the views going up are absolutely Breathtaking. It's an eight mile hike from the bottom to the top and back. I've done it a few times prior to the landslide. I was at the Zion Lodge when a large landslide occurred and I watched as the helicopter had to rescue several hikers from the "Hidden Canyon Trail", which connects to the Observation Point trail. It's really unfortunate all the Land Slides they have at Zion but it's all part of nature. God Bless you and your hiking friends... Robin :-)

Thanks, brother! The trail we did was much easier, but I've heard (like you said) the other trail is much more rewarding. Hopefully one of these days! Pretty amazing you were there when that rockfall occurred. God bless!

Now I did hike to Observation Point probably around eight years ago before the rock slide happened. That hike was 8 Miles roundtrip and it was really stunning the whole way through. It was more on the somewhat strenuous side as well. I have never gone the way that you went but I'm guessing the reason why people critique it is because the original route was just like wow! I do agree that this is the best view of Zion. I really do hope they reopen the original hike some day. Another cool video Randy and thank you so much my friend for sharing your National Park Adventures with all of us

We were just at Zion in Sept. I feel the Canyon Rim Overlook Trail is one of the best hikes in Zion. I say best, because I cannot do Angels Landing because of the height and narrow trail. How does one park for Canyon Overlook? From the maps I've seen the parking looks sparse at best, room for maybe a dozen cars, so how much time should I plan to be waiting for a parking spot? How cold was the temperature reading in the tent? And are you a crunchy or smooth peanut butter person? My gut says crunchy bc you're outgoing and adventurous.

Some interesting questions there, Mark! Here we go: got down to 27 that night, was crunchy, now creamy (getting more mellow with age!).

What the heck!? There’s an easier way than the 2000 foot elevation climb from the bottle? OVALTINE!!!

Yeah, not as attractive, but way easier. Only option since the main trail is still closed. Ovaltine sounds a lot better than the Ramen Noodles were dining on at the end of the video!

Yeah, that way was closed due to a rock slide when we were there. Some crazy hiking on this trip, so it was nice to take the easier rout that day. :)
