May I reply , with your permission , madam ?? Cardiovascular technology can be done as a diploma or a degree course . Post diploma , usually candidates get settle down as ECG/ TMT or Echocardiography specialists obtaining the images and reports . They also deal with Holter monitors and some of them in cardiac cath lab depending on the institutional needs. However those who take it as a degree course have diverse prospects . 1. They can do post graduation in the same where by they become eligible to teach in medical college. Eg MAHE ( MANIPAL ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION conducts excellent post graduation programmes . 2. Most of the biomedical companies especially those dealing with Stents , Pacemakers , Valves , CRT / ICD, Echocardiography etc. need trained graduates for marketing , training and adhoc onsite support to the operating cardiologists / technicians who cannot do their procedure with perfection without the help of technical expertise of the trained personnel. Most of the European , American and middle East Hospitals function well because of Indian cardiovascular technicians .. eg HAMAD .... 3. Some entrepreneurs after completing this course tag themselves with hospitals and companies as freelance techs / hardware experts, whose role is indispensable at time ... List is endless
