Before making any regedit changes u should ALWAYS make a restore point. I'm not stating that the Regedit changes are at fault here. But I would advise u to load a restore point if u can. If not check for any background program's that are running. Maybe reinstall ur GPU drivers and Chipset drivers, or any drivers.

What kind of CPU do u have? Some CPU run hot on their own. If u for example have low airflow in ur case and use a stock cooler then the temperatures can rise quite quickly.
