Been to Pho Ca Dao, Pho Cow Cali, and Bolsa...all delicious. Another really great place for PHO when it was open was the one attached to Pho Lucky’s grocery store....it’s closed due to in dining being closed but it was really good. The broth was perfect!!! There are other great spots throughout San Diego, but we’re focusing on the Mira Mesa area.

The white things in the Bahn Mi are pickled Diakon Radish. In Mira Mesa, Bolsa Vietnamese Restaurant is hands down my favorite. Seriously, don't limit yourself to just Pho and Spring Rolls. Vietnamese cuisine has so much more to offer. Head on down to Convoy/Linda Vista to Mien Trung. Get a bowl of Bun Bo Hue, or my favorite Bun Rui Oc. OMG! This place is so cool! It's like you are eating inside someone's home. While you are there get a couple of Bahn Mi's to go from K's Sandwiches. Another great place on Convoy is Phuong Trang. Their Vietnamese Beef Salad is FIRE! So is just about everything else on the menu!

Definitely second mien truong in Linda Vista (plus you can also bring in your own pot and buy a pot worth of bun bo hue or bun rieu - I haven't been back since covid started 😔) and I also second phuong trang in Convoy - their pho is 👌 👌 but the garlic wings are a MUST!

Nice video Jay, though I gotta go with Pho Hoa on El Cajon Blvd as the best one in SD. I have been to Vietnam twice and although it cannot compare to the homeland, I feel that Pho Hoa serves its broth the most consistent compared to others in SD 😎

Live in Mira Mesa myself, and the banh mi and pho spots are my go-to as well. Next time, try the banh mi with an added egg for a buck. So good!

Check out cali baguette express in that plaza where Wells Fargo, Bolsa, and the haircut place you mentioned in the video. Cali baguette (imo) have the best banh mi! 😋 Their menu covers sandwiches, rice & vermicelli dishes, & boba!

There is a Pho place in the Ikea shopping mall...in the corner next to Island Burgers and Costco....why I like this place is not only the delicious broth but the huge amount of MEAT per order!!!!! Fatty Brisket

Mira Mesa! My old stomping grounds. You mentioned “Ice Cream.” As of 2010 I moved back down south. I discovered “Oasis Ice Cream Parlor.” Featured by Andrew Zimmern while doing a feature in SD. Maybe do a segment on popular mom n pop ice cream establishments. Another is Mariposa and Niederfrank’s. I look forward to it.

Duyen Mai in Kearny Mesa has bomb pho, best I've had in San Diego. Crowds don't lie. Nem nuong cuon is a must try as well, it's a crunchy twist to the Vietnamese spring roll. I'll have to check out pho hoa in El Cajon
