I switched from the 13 Pro (not max) to the S22 Ultra (25Gb 12Gb RAM Snapdragon variant) I love it! It's been about a month now, and it's been nothing short of amazing. I've been an iPhone user for most of the time, and I was really interested in checking out the Samsung offering just out of iPhone boredom. Best decision I've made. Can't go wrong with either, but my vote this year goes to the S22 Ultra for SURE.

@@tnproduction7674 I mean, what're you doing on your phone where you really NEED the power from the chip in the 13 pro? Even as a power user, I don't have any issues with performance on the S22 Ultra. Have yet to experience any lag, actually funny enough I've had more issues with bugs in iOS as of late. A couple of years ago, iOS was a nearly bug free experience. I was having consistent crashing within apps, apps failing to load, and even some issues with the phones display flickering.

@@Yusufemad229 if that's the only question you have, go towards s22 ultra blindly. S22 ultra has more versatile video, more options and frankly is a much better usable phone. Yes, iPhone has marginally better video, but get the phones in night and iPhone video although slightly better quality is full of lens flares. Also, we are in a territory where the video is so good on both phones that marginal increases shouldn't be considered. Also, I had an instance where I wanted to send a video I took of my daughter with 13 pro max to the official photographer, it took me 3 hours to get that video off, with it failing multiple times. All the reviewers were so sharp at pointing out the shutter lag in s22 ultra, but no body followed up on that, after the latest update it's almost zero. No heating whatsoever with regular usage as well. I still use both phones, but that's because I'm stupid and I can't be without an ios device that's all. If I had to take one phone, hands down the s22 ultra.

My brother got an S22 (non-ultra) recently and he likes it a lot, but with Samsung’s throttling of games and apps only being revealed recently I really hope they update soon to let people disable the Game Optimization Service completely (something that may have happened already but, I am iPhone). I know there was an update which supposedly fixed some of the issues with GOS, but honestly as Android users cherish the freedom of use that the platform offers them over iOS i think it should be left to the user to decide if they want their device to do anything like that at all (iOS probably has stuff built in like GOS that can affect performance too, but it’s not anything that’s made headlines). Aside from griping about GOS, the battery, screen, and cameras on the S22 series are amazing. I’ll likely never go Android due to being as tangled up in the garden of Apple as I am, but I seriously respect how good the phone is.

I will mention that there just isn’t an android phone that I find to be suitable for me, there always seems to be some sort of…concession I need to make with any brand out there. I like iOS for the simplicity of choice, I always know exactly what I’m getting. The fragmented ecosystem that Android devices have makes me feel like I’m always missing out on some feature that another brand has that each brand doesn’t. With iOS, the worst I suppose is that I only get to do what Apple wants to let me do, but it’s just less of a headache for me that way.

I have a problem with the tone of the video. We shouldn't speak about "average consumers" when talking in regards of phones costing $1k+. Save that conversation for the iPhone SE, Galaxy A53, Pixel 6a, etc. At this price range, the conversation should be what you CAN do with these powerful pocket computers as opposed to cater to the lowest common denominator and choosing "winners" and "losers".

Great video, lifelong Apple user here. My experiences with both the S22 Ultra and 13 Pro Max: The S22 ultra was the first phone to tempt me away from iOS, bought the S22U on launch and switched to it as my permanent phone, quite easy, although WhatsApp was a bit of a pain to transfer. Wow, what a phone, hardware is amazing, best photos on any phone I'd had to date (10x Zoom, Apple!), S-pen I used more than I thought I would, Galaxy Watch 4 is good (although not as good as the Apple Watch IMO). One UI is better than Android 12, loved the customisations available vs iOS (it did take ages to get how I wanted it though). On its best day it was the best phone I'd ever used. However I live in the UK and had issues with the Exynos (vs Snapdragon) chipset. Lags, app crashes and framerate drops on a daily basis, I found the fingerprint sensor flaky (would rather it be in the power button) and facial recognition only works in the light, using the selfie camera. I travel a lot as part of my job, have long days on board planes and don't often have a chance to charge my phone, I need something with the legs to get me though a day. The S22 Ultra just couldn't cut it in terms of battery life. Frequently had to run around with an extra battery pack just to stay in contact with home, it just didn't last the day and it was a pain to keep checking the battery percentage. I once turned off airplane mode at a destination and lost 30% battery in the space of an hour with it just sat in my pocket, screen off. Sadly couldn't tolerate it and in the end I've opted for a 13 Pro Max, returning to the Mothership.

As a Samsung user until about a year and a half ago, I enjoyed this video! I too have both an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Samsung S22 Ultra. While I do particularly like the Samsung this year, I still use the iPhone 13 Pro Max as my main phone. I would say it’s the weighted value of certain aspects that keep me on the iPhone. Specifically Face ID is way better than any fingerprint reader since the mask update has been available (I work in healthcare and often wear masks, even now) I still occasionally have problems with the fingerprint reader on Samsung and it’s just not as easy. FaceID with the mask update and the Apple Watch is 100% flawless. Also the battery life is good on both, but iPhone is still better… I can’t kill it over what I do. Finally there are some intangible user experience items that are better on iOS. I still prefer how the iPhone takes pictures in the scenarios that I use it for. Particularly the sky seems clearer in most pictures. And I still think skin tones are better on iOS. But the zoom is bad ass on the Samsung. Although occasionally the iPhone 13pm will wash out certain photos. However, I have both for 2 reasons. 1. I haven’t outgrown downloading music and movies and casting from my phone. This is just impossible on an iPhone in a comparative way. And I love the zoom while traveling. I’m fortunate to be able to afford both. I wish one device would suit all my needs… I suppose if I had to only have one phone it would be the Samsung, not because it’s better necessarily, but because Android is the more flexible platform. But if you don’t need or want to use a phone to download and cast, the 13pm still, barely, is the better choice.

Everything else seemed nice but as a long time Samsung user I think the biggest hurdle when switching to iPhone would be the lack of dedicated home, back and recent buttons. In general, Android is made for people who actually went through the coding on their MySpace pages. IPhone is for those who just used a pre-made package. Neither is wrong - just depends on the person. Are they a developer or a consumer? I have the S22 ultra and couldn't see myself upgrading or switching

This is wrong, Android is not for someone who is a developer or need knowledge of coding to use the phone. It's basically the same as iPhone with more customisations. You dont even need touch any of the customistations, just use android exactly like how you would use iPhone. Android is a phone for everyone.

Im about to switch back to an Iphone 13, coming now from an S22 Ultra (exynos) why ? I used the ultra for like 4 months now and it came out as an battery greedy, bulky and fast overheating device. One hand usage is unconfy and I basically don't use the S pen at all. Ehy having an 5000mAh battery when a 3700 from an iphone lasts longer ? The fast charging with 45 watts is a lie because it does so just in the first few minutes, falling back to 25. Gaming is not comfy due to the sharp edges and fast hitting the 40degrees which will slow down the GPU automatically. It just starts to heat up by scrolling pictures and the 60hz mode is pure eyecancer. In gaming apple brutaly outperforms the exynos and even the snap.

The iPhone continues to be the best. In 2007, the first-generation iPhone marked the beginning of the smartphone era. Consider how Samsung, Sony, Huawei, Nokia, and the rest of the Android phones looked back then. The iPhone, on the other hand, completely transformed the game. Today's competition is fierce. There are a lot of great materials and innovations coming out, thanks to Apple for paving the way. Apple is the smartphone equivalent of Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, and so on. People will buy it regardless of how expensive it is, just as they do with luxury cars. On the other hand, Samsung and all of the android phones are like compact cars (please don't get mad 🤭) like Honda and Toyota; make all the modifications you want, but hey, at the end of the day, it's still Apple. The elegance, style, operating and support system, the fluidity and smoothness, processors, hardware and software integration, and many more. You will love Apple just the way it is. The iPhone is the forefather of all smartphones.

If you're paying for a premium phone, I would not suggest the samsung s22 ultra since every other flagship phones have the same 8gen1 with lower price, the iphone 13 pro max however gives you the longest battery life than any other phones in 2022 period and a top tier processor. Your games run cooler, you gain a "social status" by having an iphone. You have a better resell value and a solid 5-6 years of software update. You can have seamless connection with your AirpodsMax and Airpods Pro. You get better optimised apps like singing apps etc. You get better security from virus or spy apps which are malicious that might affect your bank account etc. You have less software bugs that will make your phone slower each passing year. You can easily replace a new battery to your iphone and observe how much maximum battery capacity you have left which android phones does not have this feature

I just saw this video and telling you this. The S22 ultra is good, but it is still far from Apple. I decided to return and wait for the iPhone 14 Pro. On the latest August update, the Ultra improved the battery but the photo and video quality are complete trash. A lot of noise on pictures and focusing problems while recording. Although battery has improved, still drains your battery. On gaming and other image processing, throttles and got image distortion while gaming. Waiting for improvements, you have to wait a little over a month hoping the improvements; if it comes with more bugs, you better wait another month. I came from the iPhone 12 pro and I regret selling it. It had some stability and even I had 87% of battery life, it lasted the day. What I still hate about apple, come on! Thankfully, in 2024 no more lightning!!!! but USB-C is a must have!!!

One thing i also dislike is the display will jump from "75%" screen brightness to a full on "150%" without a slow increase like the iPhone does. The transition seems too choppy and i don't like it.

Great comparisons., focussed on what people actually care about. I have an iPhone Pro 11 max and an LG v60. And enjoy them both. The iPhone a smoother experience with updates for years mthe v60 with unmatched audio quality and versatility. The iPhone is smooth, integrated and the OS better (better app support for things like onenote which I use a lot, the ios shortcuts/workfkow app adding huge amounts of versatility), great battery life and especially important to me, years of updates. It'll probably last me (or family member at least 3 more years, giving it 6 years of performanat use). Added to that is the Apple watch, which for the range of things I use it for is better than I've found with Android or Garmin watches. The v60 though has unmatched versatility. As someone who enjoys good quality music the v60's ESS Sabre quad dac and 3.5mm headphone socket is unrivalled (IPhones do support true bit audio which gives them an edge when it comes to wired over android, unless you know how to bypass android's down sampling of lossless and uncompressed). And the v60 supports aptx adaptive and LDAC which gives it an edge with wireless (espcially using Apple music on android - everything in Apple music is lossless or hires lossless and it's cheaper than Spotify). Additionally, the v60 had an sd card slot which I find very handy for quick, large quantity data transfer (I have around 200gb of uncompressed and lossless audio which I transfer between laptop and phone using an sd card). The v60 also has a removable second screen allowing the v60 to be used in laptop mode and dual app mode, something which I use a lot. I can remove the second screen when I don't want the extra thickness or weight. The main downside of the v60 (apart from LG having left the mobile market) is that it only gets 3 lots of OS updates. Software wise though, as a longterm android user, I now prefer ios for integration, usability and security. Even though I like playing with android launchers. My next phone will be the iPhone 14pro, most likely ( I prefer Lightning over usb c, its easier to slot in, I have more lightning accessories and I've had problems with different USB c cables, though it's handy now that the 6 USB c cable types have a standard symbol set to help differentiate them. Also, I like why I've seen of the island thing as well as the improvements Apple have made by resigning the innards of the 14pro to make repairs easier and strength the overall phone). More important to me are the jump in video stabilisation, camera for landscape s especially and the auto tracking of the selfie camera for web calls.

Higher benchmarks don't equal to real world usage and you don't need software updates with basically nothing in them to continue to use a phone

Very fair and honest. Thank you. Both are great phones. I will always use Android but it's nice to know the IPhone is really good too. I can't believe Apple still has the hideous notch.

It has the notch to contain all the facial recognition technology. Samsungs facial recognition is a baby in comparison due to this.

Can I bother your for a quick fact? Indeed, Samsung's zoom performance and also bigger number of megapixels is killing the iPhone, but we all forget about one important thing: ProRaw If you use both of phone's mail camera (not zoom, because Samsung is king), iPhone will always win if the photo is taken in thei DNG Raw format and edited in Lightroom. For the average user, that would not be the case because he/she will only want to take quick snaps, BUT...for a person who is doing lifestyle/street/sunset/sunrise photography, the ability to edit the RAW format in LR will make a huge difference. If you use ProRaw and deactivate the HDR, the data of the DNG file is closer to DSLR quality and will give you extra space for editing and correction. Also, if you shot night photography in ProRaw and edit in LR, the results would be devastating for the competitors. Of course, I am not talking about zoom night photos (we had established that Samsung kills it), just main camera one. The ProRaw DNG format is a game changer, and also editing is 50% of the final result but people are avoiding this important point. I think it is important to make sure that everybody understands that Apple made the ProRaw DNG option for achieving the best results on market, and don't judge the camera quality/ system without showing what it can do when used to full potential.

I own s22 ultra green - I would say Battery life and speaker quality drags samsung s22 ultra to down, rest I see day to day life s22 ultra ROCKs..... iPhone 13PM is definitely good but too much restrictions and same boring design to use.
