Excellent review video! I’ve just gotten an Aero Precision EPC-9 complete upper & stripped lower that I put together, and I have to sheepishly admit that I was oblivious to the problems 9mm AR barrels have with hollow point. Had I known, I would have looked into options for barrels with feed ramps like from Macon Armory rather than sticking with the Aero Precision barrel in their complete upper. That said, though the Sig Sauer 147 grain hollow point fed horribly in my EPC yesterday at the range, the Norma FMJ I used fed great for the most part (I chalk the few rounds that didn’t up to teething troubles with a brand new gun). So, I’m eager to try their MHP rounds as soon as I can get some!

Since I don't own a PCC, I had no idea about feeding issues. This makes lots of sense. I saw a gel test and I was highly interested. The Norma ammo is not barrel length dependent. A Sig 290 actually penetrated a little farther than a G17 in bare Clear Ballistics 20% gel.
@TWANGnBANG5 жыл бұрын
ClearBallistics is a really cool product. I’ve used it many, many times. However, I’ve come to suspect it penalizes certain bullet designs because it is so much more elastic than either living tissue or FBI gelatin.

Too bad the only cycling issue I've ever experienced in any semiauto pistol was a glock 19 gen 5. Known for having a short throat (look it up I am not the only one) causing failures to go into full battery once every 100-200 rounds. Switched to a M&P 2.0 because of this as I didn't feel comfortable relying my life on those odds. Blind 100% confidence in glock with those statements is dangerous, and I love my glocks otherwise
@TWANGnBANG5 жыл бұрын
No blind confidence. I probably have more rounds through Glocks in the past year than most have through all of their firearms combined lifetime. Don't forget what I do for a living.
@herpshnerp5 жыл бұрын
@@TWANGnBANG well if I would have listened to this video I would have assumed I had bad ammo, instead I did research and figured out with a local gunsmith the throat was indeed short compared to my other 9mms causing the malfunctions. All I'm saying is any brand is capable of having inherent issues and to be mindful of these, dont automatically assume a malfunction cant be the glocks fault. You are a professional reviewer who receives t&e guns, accessories and sponsorships. Bias is inevitable
@herpshnerp5 жыл бұрын
@@TWANGnBANG dont get me wrong I'm not bashing you, or saying your opinions aren't valid, just that either personal or professional bias is inevitable and as a reviewer you have to be mindful of that. I work in medicine so we are hyper sensitive to bias in medical journals and stidues; its unavoidable but important to scrutinize in the peer review process so that's where I'm coming from. Regardless my point was simply to say that no manufacturer is immune from problems here and there. I own many glocks and of course they have one of the best track records, but if it's a tool I'm going to trust my life to if I experience a malfunction I first assume it's the gun and rule that out first, in my case, it was a rare instance of overly tight tolerance leading to not running 147gr HSTs reliably. Anyways just rambling at this point, carry on

I know that's not what this video is about but Why just why? 1 minute in and, "if there's an issue it has to be the ammo not the Glock" and this is why people think the Glock is so "superior" because if there's an issue its always something else's fault. I don't know about you but I wouldn't exactly call a gun reliable if it can't run a particular brand of ammo. I refuse to watch the rest of a video when someone can't go 1 minute without being a Glock fan boy.
